How to get it

Sold for 1,000 Seafarer's Dubloons by the Dubloons Trader at the Island Expedition dock: Captain Klarisa in Boralus Harbor (Alliance) or Captain Zen'taga in the Port of Zandalar (Horde). The dubloons are paid by Island Expeditions.

Before you go

  • 1,000 Seafarer's Dubloons from Island Expeditions: some 75 to 100 expeditions · about 11 h

In all: about 11 h of play, starting from nothing.

Getting there

Captain Klarisa, Boralus Harbor
Boralus · 66.2, 32.4
/way Boralus 66.2 32.4
From Stormwind (Alliance) about 1 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Boralus*
  2. Fly the rest of the way
Captain Zen'taga, Port of Zandalar
Dazar'alor · 44.4, 94.4
/way Dazar'alor 44.4 94.4
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 1.2 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Zuldazar*
  2. Fly the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

The journal's cost of 1,000 is Seafarer's Dubloons, and its zones, Tiragarde Sound and Zuldazar, are the cities of Boralus and Dazar'alor; the coordinates are Wowhead's tooltip positions on the two city maps. The same traders sell the Saltwater Seahorse for 500.

Since patch 9.1.5 an expedition is started alone or with up to three players, at Flynn Fairwind in Boralus or Captain Rez'okun in Dazar'alor (the wiki's patch notes). A hotfix of 17 June 2026 put expedition queueing right again in Midnight (wiki). Dubloons have been Warband-transferable since patch 11.0.0 (wiki), so several characters can pool them.

The dubloon rate is the weak figure. By the 2022 count Mythic pays about three times what Normal and Heroic do. Other figures are far apart:

  • a 2019 Wowhead comment: about 20 a run, and 50 expeditions in all
  • conquestcapped's guide (updated 2026): 50-75 a Mythic expedition and 14-20 expeditions, which no player's count on Wowhead comes near
  • other wow.gg pages, seen as search excerpts: 1-3 and 7-36

Wowhead's guide (last updated in 2021, as read for the Twilight Avenger) lists the mount with the traders at 1,000 and says dubloons come from the bags at the end of an expedition and from the islands themselves. The item asks for level 10 (wiki); the level needed to queue was not established.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
