Sold by Necrolord Sipe, the Combatant Mount Quartermaster in Old Town, Stormwind City, for 1 Vicious Saddle. A saddle is earned in rated PvP while a season is running: wins at 1,000 rating (Combatant) or more fill the Season Rewards bar; the first full bar of a season gives that season's own vicious mount, and every further full bar in the same season gives a Vicious Saddle.

Notes and sources
The journal's 'Cost: 1' is one Vicious Saddle (wiki). The wiki's page for the mount (edited 2026) has it bought from Necrolord Sipe for 1 Vicious Saddle, and its page for the vendor lists it among his 25 mounts, each at one saddle; Wowhead's full page for the item was not opened. The mount was the Alliance's reward of Battle for Azeroth Season 1, then earned by rated wins at 1,400 rating or more. The wiki lists no Horde mount of this name: the Horde's reward of the same season was the Vicious War Clefthoof.
Saddles can only be earned while a rated PvP season is running: the wiki's page for Midnight Season 2 (edited 2026) gives its start as 18 August 2026 and no end date; that season's own mount is the Vicious Lightbloom Boar. By the wiki, a saddle comes each time the Rated PvP progress bar is filled to 100% after the current seasonal mount has been earned, several a season since patch 8.0.1.
The saddle binds when picked up (wiki) and the vendor is an Alliance one, so the bar has to be filled on an Alliance character; the mount item itself binds to the Warband (Wowhead's tooltip as stored for this guide in 2026, wiki).
The win counts: Wowhead's own guide to the saddle mounts was last updated in 2020, still gives the rating as 1,400 and says this mount is 'not currently obtainable', so it is not linked. Its points per win are the only figures found and are where wow.gg's 40, 80 and 240 come from. Neither gives a count for Solo Shuffle or Battleground Blitz, and the points a win pays today were not found written by Blizzard; the bar on the Rated tab of the PvP window shows the progress.
The guide linked is written for the Vicious War Ram and does not name the Riverbeast, but the way to a saddle and the vendor are the same; the page contradicts itself in places (the level asked for, which reward comes first).
A ground mount; it asks for level 17 and Apprentice Riding (wiki, since patch 9.0.1). The coordinates are the wiki's (76.8, 65.6); Wowhead's tooltip for the vendor, as read for this guide's Vicious Moonbeast, has 76.8, 65.4 and 76.8, 65.6.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
