Time there about 2 min a visit
Before you go
- Battle for Azeroth world quests unlocked: level 50 and Uniting Kul Tiras, which asks for Friendly with the Proudmoore Admiralty, Storm's Wake and the Order of Embers · about 4 h
- Exalted with the Order of Embers: the Drustvar story quests, then Drustvar world quests (75 to 350 reputation each) and the faction's emissary days (1,500 for four world quests). A Contract: Order of Embers, made by scribes, adds 10 on every Battle for Azeroth world quest · about 20 h over 2 weeks
- 72,000 gold: the listed price of 90,000 less the 20% an Exalted character is given, and only an Exalted character can buy
In all: about 24 h of play, spread over 2 weeks, 72,000 gold, starting from nothing.
Getting there
/way Drustvar 37.8 49 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Boralus*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
Alliance only: the Order of Embers is an Alliance faction. A 2026 Wowhead comment says the mount 'remains Alliance exclusive', and one of 2020 that it unlocks nothing on the Horde side. The coordinates are those used for the Smoky Charger, and wow.gg's (37.8, 49.0).
Two things the journal does not say. First the price: 90,000 is the list price in the journal, Wowhead's tooltip and the wiki, but an Exalted buyer pays 72,000 by four Wowhead comments: two of 2019 ('Costs 72,000g at Exalted', +26; 'Ignore the 90,000 gold price in the tooltip'), one of 2020 and one of 2026. Since nobody below Exalted can buy, 72,000 is the figure counted here. Wowhead's own Quick Facts and wow.gg show 81,000, which would be the discount of a lower standing. This guide's notes for the two sister gryphons, the Stormsong Coastwatcher and the Proudmoore Sea Scout, keep the list price of 90,000.
Second the achievement: Wowhead's tooltip and item page carry 'Required achievement: Battle for Azeroth Pathfinder, Part Two', as the Coastwatcher's notes found for the sister gryphons. A 2019 comment has the mount go on sale with that achievement in patch 8.2; the item was in the data from 8.0.1, and comments of 2018 found it missing from the vendor. The achievement is no longer needed for flying (patch 10.0.7, by the Coastwatcher's notes). Whether the vendor still asks for it could not be established, as no comment later than 2019 speaks of it, so it is listed among the requirements as one a long-played character most likely already has, as for the Coastwatcher.
Blizzard Watch (2026) reports that patch 12.1.5 makes Battle for Azeroth reputations Warband-wide and names the Order of Embers; a second article gives 13 October 2026 for the patch. Until then Exalted is needed on the buying character, and Blizzard had not said how standings on several characters are combined, so check once the patch is live.
The time to Exalted is a rough estimate. wow.gg (updated 2026) has the Drustvar story reach Friendly, world quests at 75 to 350, the emissary at 1,500 and 'approximately 2-3 weeks of active play' from Friendly to Exalted; it also names spices from Island Expeditions handed in for reputation and the World Quest Bonus Event's 50%. Its guide is written for the Smoky Charger, the other mount of this vendor and standing, and names this one only in passing, misnamed and at 81,000 gold; it is linked for the reputation.
No Wowhead guide to this reputation was found: the item's page lists only Wowhead's general Battle for Azeroth mount guide and its overview of all reputations. Icy Veins has an Order of Embers guide, which was not read.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
