Notes and sources
Horde characters only. The journal and Wowhead's tooltip both read 'Cost: 2000', which is out of date: that was the price in Honor Points from patch 4.0.1 until patch 7.0.3 made it 15 Marks of Honor (wiki). Marks are bound to the Warband (wiki, as noted for this guide's other war mounts), so they can be earned on any character and spent by a Horde one.
The wiki names two sellers: Jorek Ironside in the Hillsbrad Foothills and Grunnda Wolfheart inside the Alterac Valley battleground. Wowhead's sold-by list for this item was not opened; the one for the Alliance's item, the Stormpike Battle Charger, has two sellers, each at 15 of item 137642, the Mark of Honor.
Jorek Ironside's coordinates are Wowhead's tooltip for him (NPC 13219: 58.0, 33.4-33.6 in the Hillsbrad Foothills); the wiki's infobox still files him under Alterac Mountains and says to go due north from the Tarren Mill graveyard. He replaced Jekyll Flandring in patch 4.0.3a (wiki).
Exalted with the Frostwolf Clan is asked only in Classic (the wiki's page for the horn). The item's tooltip today asks for Apprentice Riding and nothing else, though the wiki's page for Jorek Ironside still shows 'Exalted' and level 60 beside the horn, which looks like the Classic entry left standing.
One thing to watch: the wiki says that since the 15th anniversary he also exists as a time-displaced version during WoW's Anniversary, with a stock priced in Timewarped Badges and Marks of Honor that does not list the horn. On the Stormpike Battle Charger, comments from 2019 to 2020 found that the Alliance's vendor did not sell it then, and one of 2020 that the Hillsbrad vendor was put right. Whether the horn stays on sale in Hillsbrad through the 2026 Anniversary was not checked.
The wiki says the same item also teaches the Alliance's counterpart, and the tooltip marks the mount account-wide. A 2012 comment on the Stormpike Battle Charger says an account with one has the other on the opposite faction's characters; that was not checked against the game. The Frostwolf Snarler of the Anniversary's Korrak's Revenge is a different mount.
These notes mirror those for the Alliance's twin, the Stormpike Battle Charger; for this mount itself, the wiki's pages for the horn and for Jorek Ironside and Wowhead's tooltips for the item and for him were read.
Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
