How to get it

The Blue Qiraji Resonating Crystal drops from the trash creatures of the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj (ten kinds of qiraji, anubisath and obsidian guards), from about one kill in twelve. The first to meet are the eight Anubisath Sentinels that stand in two packs before the first boss, The Prophet Skeram. The mount can be summoned only inside the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj.

Chance 50% per try, so about 2 tries on average — Worked out, not read as such. Wowhead's item page (read 2026-10-11) records 323,463 crystals in 3,740,865 loots over ten trash creatures (8.65% a kill), and 48,139 in 572,152 for the Anubisath Sentinel alone (8.41%). 50% is the chance over the eight Sentinels before the first boss (1 - (1 - 0.0841)^8 = 50.5%); thirty trash kills give 93%. The tooltip gives no figure

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

The journal's 'World Drop' is trash inside the raid, not the open world: the wiki has it 'from trash mobs in the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj', and Wowhead lists ten creatures and no boss, each between 8.2% and 9.7% (the Obsidian Eradicator at the entrance has 8.71%):

  • the Qiraji Mindslayer, Brainwasher, Lasher, Slayer and Champion
  • the Obsidian Eradicator and Nullifier
  • the Anubisath Sentinel, Defender and Warder

Since the crystal is not tied to a boss kill, the lockout is given as none, as for the Red, Yellow and Green tanks. Their notes have Wowhead comments from 2008 to 2025 that describe killing the trash before The Prophet Skeram, leaving, resetting the instance and going in again, with Skeram left alive so the character is not saved to the raid. That, the two packs of four Sentinels counted here, and a 2012 reply saying only about five instances can be entered in an hour are taken from those notes and were not read again; this crystal's own comments (the newest of 2023) say nothing on it.

The Yellow and Green crystals drop from the same creatures about as often (8.99% and 8.9% a kill), the Red one far more rarely (1.01%).

The crystal is unique and binds when picked up, so extra ones can only be destroyed (a 2019 comment). A 2021 comment warns not to mix it up with a look-alike item from a micro-holiday quest (Wowhead item 151626).

The mount is in the journal and counts for the collection, but it can be ridden only inside the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj and vanishes if the rider is attacked (wiki, tooltip). The item asks for level 17 and Apprentice Riding since patch 9.0.1 (wiki, edited 2026).

The entrance and its coordinates are the same as for the other three tanks: worked out from the game's own table of instance entrances (it comes out as Silithus 24.1, 87.1, the same spot on the neighbouring map); no guide that was read gives them. No guide is linked: it only takes killing the trash.

Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
