Notes and sources

Kama patrols Witherbark Village. Wowhead's tooltip for him (npc 142709, 'Level 51 Humanoid (Rare)') shows a patrol from 64.8, 71.6 up to 68.2, 66.8, with most sightings between 65.4, 68.8 and 65.6, 71.6; the place given is a point on that stretch. Nimar the Slayer, who drops the Witherbark Direwing (67.5, 60.6), is in the same village, and six mounts come from the Arathi warfront rares (a 2018 comment), so one round of the zone tries for several.

The wiki lists Kama as a level 50 rare elite of the Battle for Stromgarde warfront zone and gives no coordinates or respawn; a 2021 comment speaks of when he 'was elite'.

The lockout is not a calendar week: a character can loot Kama once per warfront control period, which resets when Arathi changes hands. Wowhead's best-rated comment on the item (2018, +54) says 'Rare Reset Time: After each warfront faction control switch cycle'; a 2018 comment calls it about once a week and a reply two weeks. How long a period lasts now was not established: the Witherbark Direwing's notes have conquestcapped (2026) saying anything from three days to over a week. Each character has its own chance in each period.

What the Witherbark Direwing's notes found for the village's other rare applies here and was not read again:

  • sources disagree on whether the side that does not hold Arathi gets loot
  • a 2024 reply reports warfront rare mounts dropping for a character without the Heart of Azeroth
  • a 2022 comment says trial accounts get no drop

About 18 kills are expected at 5.67%. Comments report drops on the first kill (2024) and after about 6 and about 15 attempts (2025, the most recent), and one player of 2020 needed dozens of kills across eight characters. The item binds when picked up (Wowhead's tooltip).

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
