Sold by Deathguard Netharian, the Combatant Mount Quartermaster in the Valley of Strength, Orgrimmar, for 1 Vicious Saddle. A saddle is earned in rated PvP while a season is running: wins at 1,000 rating (Combatant) or more fill the Season Rewards bar; the first full bar of a season gives that season's own vicious mount, and every further full bar in the same season gives a Vicious Saddle.

Notes and sources
The journal's 'Cost: 1' is one Vicious Saddle. Wowhead's sold-by list (2026) has Deathguard Netharian (npc 73151) alone at 1 of item 103533, the saddle, and the wiki's pages for the mount (edited 2026), the saddle and the vendor (edited 2026; the mount is the last entry of his list) agree. He stands next to Raider Bork: the coordinates are the wiki's (42.0, 73.8); Wowhead's tooltip for him has 41.8, 73.0, 42.0, 72.4 and 42.0, 73.8, and wow.gg 42.0, 72.4.
It was the Horde reward of Battle for Azeroth Season 4, then earned by rated wins at 1,400 rating or more (wiki; a 2020 comment). It went out with that season and came to the saddle vendor in patch 9.1: comments of 2021 announce it, one linking Wowhead's news post, and one of 2020 found it not yet for sale; the Vicious Black Warsaber's notes have patch 9.1.0, 29 June 2021, from the wiki for the Season 2 pair. Added in patch 8.3.0.
Buying it also gives the Alliance counterpart, the Vicious White Warsaber: a 2020 comment says the Warsaber comes with it for Alliance characters, and this guide's notes for the Warsaber have the same from the wiki the other way round. So an account that already has the Warsaber may find this one learned.
Saddles can only be earned while a rated PvP season is running: the wiki's page for Midnight Season 2 (edited 2026) gives its start as 18 August 2026 and its end as ongoing; its own mount is the Vicious Lightbloom Boar, earned at Combatant rank (1,000 rating) or higher. The wiki's wording for the saddle: one 'each time the Rated PvP progress bar is filled to 100% after the current seasonal mount has been earned', and since patch 8.0.1 a character can earn several in a season. wow.gg adds that saddles do not expire but that unfinished progress on the bar is lost when a season ends; it gives no win count for Solo Shuffle, and the bar on the Rated tab of the PvP window shows the real progress.
The saddle binds when picked up (wiki) and the vendor is a Horde one, so the bar has to be filled on a Horde character; the mount item binds to the Warband and lists only Horde races (Wowhead's tooltip). A ground mount; Apprentice Riding (Wowhead, wiki); the wiki has it at level 10.
wow.gg's page is about the Vicious War Raptor and does not name this mount, but describes the same saddle and vendor. Wowhead's own guide, Vicious Saddle Mounts from WoW PvP, was not opened for this mount: as read for the Vicious Black Warsaber in 2026, it was last updated in 2020 and still asks for 1,400 rating, so it is not linked.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
