Sold for 350 Service Medals by each side's Service Medal Quartermaster: Provisioner Stoutforge in Boralus Harbor takes 7th Legion Service Medals, Provisioner Mukra in the Port of Zandalar takes Honorbound Service Medals. The vendor sells it only to a character that has won the Battle for Darkshore warfront on Heroic difficulty, and a Heroic warfront is entered as a raid of at least 10 players made up beforehand.

Guide wow.gg: Sandy Nightsaber
Before you go
- The Battle for Darkshore won once on Heroic difficulty, on the character that will buy the mount: at least 10 players, gathered into a raid beforehand (the group finder's custom listings are where players find one), are queued together by their leader at the warfront table and win the warfront. The same run finishes both of the warfront's quests, 65 medals · about 1 h
- 350 Service Medals of the character's own side (7th Legion or Honorbound): 65 from the Heroic Darkshore run (15 for the warfront's quest, 50 for its Heroic quest), then 1 for each world quest in Arathi Highlands and Darkshore while the side holds the zone, 5 for a finished faction assault, 20 in each paragon cache of the 7th Legion or the Honorbound, and 30 for a Heroic Stromgarde run (15 and 15) · about 6 h over 3 weeks
In all: about 7 h of play, spread over 3 weeks, starting from nothing.
Getting there
/way Boralus 66.8 25.6 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Boralus*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way Dazar'alor 51.2 95.2 - Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Zuldazar*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
The journal's cost of 350 is Service Medals: 350 7th Legion Service Medals from Stoutforge or 350 Honorbound Service Medals from Mukra (wiki). Its zones, Tiragarde Sound and Zuldazar, are the cities of Boralus and Dazar'alor. What it leaves out is the Heroic warfront.
Two items teach the one mount: 166436, which Wowhead lists as sold in Boralus, and 174373, sold by Provisioner Mukra in Dazar'alor. Both tooltips carry the line 'Complete the Battle for Darkshore on Heroic Difficulty'.
Comments of 2020 say the Heroic win counts only for the character that made it, and wow.gg (updated 2026) says the same of the achievement Heroic: War for the Shore; whether that has since become account-wide was not established. The medals have been Warband-transferable since patch 11.0 (comments of 2024), though not from one faction to the other, so other characters of the same side can help with the 350 but not with the Heroic win.
Gathering the 10 players is what players struggle with:
- a 2025 comment calls finding 10 people the only hard part, and one of 2026 speaks of waiting for 10 people to queue
- in a Blizzard forum thread, a 2025 post asks for the 10-person rule to be lifted, another of 2025 could gather 4 at most over several days, and one of 2026 is still waiting for the rule to go
- wow.gg says 10 to 20 players, and that the queue does not start without a raid
When the Heroic warfront can be queued was not established. wow.gg says only in the side's own warfront phase, 'about one week out of two'; the wiki describes 7-day warfront phases with contribution phases of no fixed length between them; and 2025 comments describe running it on several characters in one week. So no waiting days are counted for it.
A 2025 comment says Heroic Stromgarde, 30 medals, takes a couple of minutes at level 80, and one of 2020 that a warfront pays no medals without its quests. wow.gg's table of medals agrees with the comments except that it gives 1 to 3 for a world quest where they give 1.
The coordinates are Wowhead's tooltip positions as given for the Priestess' Moonsaber and the Rubyshell Krolusk, so that the three mounts share a stop. A Wowhead comment gives 66.82, 25.68 and 51.23, 95.05, and another puts Stoutforge directly behind anyone standing at the Boralus warfront table. Wowhead's Service Medal guide, linked for those two mounts, dates from 2020 by their notes and was not read for this one.
Wowhead says 4% of profiles have the mount. It was added in patch 8.3.0 (wiki); a 2019 comment says it was first planned as a Horde-only drop in Darkshore.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
