The Zandalari troll paladin's own mount. A Zandalari troll paladin learns it automatically at level 10, the level at which a new allied-race character starts, so once Zandalari trolls are unlocked on the account, making one is all it takes. No quest, trainer or vendor is involved.

Before you go
- Zandalari trolls unlocked as a playable race: a Horde character of level 40 or more does the embassy quests The Call for Allies and A Choice of Allies in Orgrimmar, then the recruitment chain of 14 steps from A Royal Occasion (Ji Firepaw) to Allegiance of the Zandalari in Dazar'alor · about 1.5 h
- A new Zandalari troll paladin, logged in once · about 0.1 h
In all: about 1.6 h of play, starting from nothing.
Getting there
There is nowhere to travel for this one.
Notes and sources
A Zandalari troll paladin learns it automatically at level 10 (wiki; level 20 until patch 9.0.1), so there is nowhere to travel for the mount itself and no stop is given. The journal files it under quests and says only "Paladin"; there is no item, and Wowhead's tooltip for the spell (290608) says no more than Requires Paladin, Faction: Horde.
The unlock no longer asks for Exalted with the Zandalari Empire (lifted in patch 9.0.1) or for the achievements Zandalar Forever! and Tides of Vengeance (lifted in patch 10.1.5); a level 40 Horde character and the quest chain are all that is left (wiki). The chain starts at the Orgrimmar Embassy; the wiki gives no coordinates for Ji Firepaw. Blizzard's own support article (updated about eight months before these notes were written) also asks only for a level 40 character and the recruitment quest chain, started at the Orgrimmar Embassy.
Not read anywhere: whether a Zandalari troll paladin made with a level boost or a race change gets the mount the same way, though nothing suggests otherwise.
Both Wowhead pages are out of date on what the unlock asks. Its Zandalari Troll guide (stamped 2025) shows the paladin's direhorn but still lists Tides of Vengeance and Zandalar Forever! as requirements. Its quest-by-quest walkthrough of the recruitment chain is a preview from the 8.1.5 test realm of 2019 that asks for Exalted with the Zandalari Empire as well and has Rokhan give A Royal Occasion. The wiki's patch notes lift all three; the quests themselves are as the walkthrough describes them.
Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
