Rare drop from the Arachnoid Harvester, a rare by a web-covered ruin just west of Bondo's Yard on Mechagon Island. It comes back about every 25 minutes and gives loot to a character once a day. The same rare in the island's alternate future, entered with Chromie's daily quest The Other Place or a Personal Time Displacer, drops the mount as well.
Chance 0.32% once a day, so about 313 tries on average — Wowhead's page for the mount (read 2026-10-10): 286 in 88,278 recorded loots of the Arachnoid Harvester (0.32%), and 23 in 7,063 of its alternate-future version (0.33%); together 309 in 95,341. The item's tooltip shows no chance. Guesses elsewhere run from 0.2% to 1%

Before you go
- The way to Mechagon Island. The rare gives loot without any quest done; a character that has not done the island's introduction finds no flight master there and flies across from Kul Tiras, or uses the Operation: Mechagon dungeon teleport if it has earned one. The introduction (the Nazjatar opening as far as A Tempered Blade or Save A Friend, then The Legend of Mechagon) is only needed for the flight point and for the alternate future · about 0.2 h
In all: about 0.2 h of play, starting from nothing.
Getting there
/way Mechagon Island 52.2 41.6 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Boralus*
- Fly the rest of the way
- Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Zuldazar*
- Take the sub from Zuldazar to Mechagon*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
About 310 looted kills are expected at 0.32%, one a day for each character, which is why players camp it with many characters. Wowhead commenters of 2025 and 2026 report it after 114, 136, 431, about 450, 456, about 900 (over five accounts), 1,010 and 1,531 attempts, and one of 2020 after 518 over 14 characters in 37 days.
The daily lock is from Wowhead's Mechagon guide (a rare cannot be looted again until the next morning's reset) and a 2019 comment whose macro reads one hidden quest, 55512, for this rare. Whether the alternate-future version has a lock of its own was not established: the single quest id suggests one shared roll a day. The commenter of 2025 who got it there after 431 attempts, most of them on the future version, uses it as a second place to find the rare when the ordinary one is down, not as a second roll.
The alternate future needs the island opened: Chromie has to be the day's visitor in Rustbolt for her daily quest, or a Personal Time Displacer is used (built by Junkyard Tinkering; the wiki lists its blueprint among this rare's drops). The rare stands at the same coordinates there (warcraftmounts.com).
Respawn: a commenter of 2025 timed 24 respawns at 16 to 30 minutes, median 25; older comments speak of 40 minutes to an hour, and Wowhead's guide only says 'common spawn timer'. The time on the spot is an estimate, half a respawn's wait and the kill.
The opening quests named in the requirements are as Wowhead's guide and the X-995 Mechanocat give them; that guide adds that the Nazjatar opening asks for level 50 and Friendly with the three zone factions of one's side.
Coordinates: Wowhead's tooltip has the rare between 51.4-53.6 and 40.4-41.6; comments give 52.0, 41.4 and 51.7, 41.6. A flying mount since patch 9.2 (wiki). Wowhead says 5% of profiles have it.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
