Chance item in the paragon cache of Nazjatar's faction: Ankoan Supplies from the Waveblade Ankoan for the Alliance, Unshackled Supplies from The Unshackled for the Horde. Once Exalted, every further 10,000 reputation opens a quest that hands over one cache: Supplies From the Waveblade Ankoan at Speaker Utia in Mezzamere, or Supplies From The Unshackled at Atolia Seapearl in Newhome.
Chance 6.53% per try, so about 15 tries on average — Wowhead (read 2026-10-11): 592 mounts in 9,459 recorded Ankoan Supplies (6.26%) and 588 in 8,602 Unshackled Supplies (6.84%); the figure is the two pooled, 1,180 in 18,061, over all years since 2019

Before you go
- What the Nazjatar introduction asks for: level 50 and the continent's three zone reputations at Friendly (Storm's Wake, the Proudmoore Admiralty and the Order of Embers, or the Voldunai, the Zandalari Empire and Talanji's Expedition) · about 5 h
- The Nazjatar introduction, nine quests down to the faction's camp (The Wolf's Offensive or The Warchief's Order through A Way Home), then on through Magni's quests, which open the zone's world quests · about 1.5 h
- Exalted with the Waveblade Ankoan (Alliance) or The Unshackled (Horde): 42,000 reputation from Neutral, from the Nazjatar story, the daily quests and world quests, 250 for every level a bodyguard gains, 50 for the first kill of each of the zone's rares, the weekly Laboratory of Mardivas quest, the Battle for Nazjatar, the Summons from the Depths event and the faction's emissary (1,500) · about 12 h over 3 weeks
- 10,000 more reputation past Exalted for each cache, from the same daily round · about 3.5 h over 7 days
In all: about 22 h of play, spread over 3 weeks, starting from nothing.
Getting there
/way Nazjatar 38 55.6 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Boralus*
- Take the portal from Sanctum of the Sages to Nazjatar*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way Nazjatar 50.8 65.2 - Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Zuldazar*
- Take the portal from Hall of Ancient Paths to Nazjatar*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
One roll per cache, and each cache costs another 10,000 reputation, so there is no lockout, only the time to refill the bar. About 15 caches are to be expected at 6.53%, which at a cache a week is some three and a half months of dailies on one character. More characters mean more caches a week (wow.gg).
Who hands the cache over: the wiki has the Alliance's quest end at Speaker Utia, the Waveblade Ankoan Emissary in Mezzamere, and the Horde's start and end at Atolia Seapearl, the quartermaster in Newhome; the coordinates are Wowhead's tooltips for the two (38.0, 55.6 and 50.8, 65.2). The mount is not tied to a faction once learned; earning it through the Ankoan takes an Alliance character and through The Unshackled a Horde one, which is why there are two stops.
Players' own counts on Wowhead run from the first cache to the 153rd (2020), with the 9th (2023), the 13th (2025), the 36th, the 58th and the 61st in between, and one still without it after 13 (2024). wow.gg's '5-10%' is a guess of the same order as Wowhead's count. Commenters of 2023 thought the chance had been raised; a 2023 reply says that was done for Legion's paragon mounts and not for Battle for Azeroth's. Neither is confirmed, and the count mixes all years.
The reputation slows down with time: bodyguards pay 250 a level only up to rank 30, and each rare pays once (a 2019 comment), so later caches lean on world quests, the weekly quests and the emissary.
Shortcuts the comments and the notes on the other Nazjatar mounts name:
- during Battle for Azeroth Timewalking the vendor Churbro (Boralus 70.9, 17.2; Dazar'alor 46.0, 94.9) sells reputation tokens for Timewarped Badges, which one player used for most of 13 caches (comments of 2025)
- from Revered the quartermaster sells an account-bound Abyssal Conch worth 250 reputation for 20 Prismatic Manapearls (as given for the Unshackled Waveray)
- a scribe's contract, the Darkmoon Faire's reputation buffs and the World Quest Bonus Event (the Unshackled Waveray; wow.gg)
The hunt overlaps with the Nazjatar meta-achievement (comments of 2023 and 2026; see the Snapback Scuttler).
Patch 12.1.5 is to make the Battle for Azeroth reputations warband-wide, and both of these are on the list (Blizzard Watch, 2026, as given for the Unshackled Waveray). Whether it is out and what it does to paragon caches was not established; until then Exalted is needed on the character that hands the quest in.
The cache also holds 3,000-5,000 gold, 500 War Resources and a chance at other items, the Flopping Fish, the Memento of the Deeps, recipes and blueprints among them (wiki). A 2019 Wowhead comment asked whether the Rustbolt Supplies of Mechagon hold it too; the reply calls that a loot-tracking error, and Wowhead now lists only the two Nazjatar caches.
The two Wowhead reputation guides were read for the Unshackled Waveray and the Ankoan Waveray in 2026 and not opened again; they are players' guides of 2020 and still speak of flying being unlocked by the reputation, but their lists of where the reputation comes from are what they are linked for. wow.gg's guide contradicts itself on the level needed (50 and 120) and names no place for the cache quest. The item binds when picked up.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
