Reward of the achievement Undersea Usurper, the meta-achievement of Nazjatar: sixteen achievements earned in the zone, among them all three bodyguards at rank 30, every creation of Mardivas's Laboratory, every puzzle world quest, every rare and every one of Azshara's champions, Exalted with the Waveblade Ankoan or The Unshackled, and the Crimson Tidestallion bought from the murloc trader Mrrl. Progress counts for the whole account.
Guides Wowhead: A Farewell to Arms Battle for Azeroth Meta-Achievement Guide · Conquest Capped: Snapback Scuttler
Before you go
- Nazjatar's story played to the end, itself one of the sixteen (Sunken Ambitions for the Alliance, Unfathomable for the Horde): the introduction from Genn Greymane in Boralus or Nathanos Blightcaller in Dazar'alor, about nine quests down to the camp, then the campaign in three parts. Along the way come the bodyguards, the Scrying Stones quest, Mrrl (A Safer Place) and the Laboratory of Mardivas · about 5 h
- Exalted with the Waveblade Ankoan (Alliance) or The Unshackled (Horde): the Nazjatar story, its daily and world quests, 250 for every rank of a bodyguard, the weekly Laboratory of Mardivas quest (500), the emissary (1,500) and, from Revered, a 250-reputation token the quartermaster sells for 20 Prismatic Manapearls · about 8 h over 3 weeks
- Aqua Team Murder Force: all three bodyguards of the faction raised to rank 30 (Bladesman Inowari, Hunter Akana and Farseer Ori at Mezzamere; Poen Gillbrack, Neri Sharpfin and Vim Brineheart at Newhome). One bodyguard is taken out each day and the day's quests give at most one rank, so it is 90 days on one character, or 30 with three characters of the same faction each raising a different one · about 40 h over 13 weeks
- Periodic Destruction: all 13 creations of Mardivas's Laboratory defeated. The weekly quest The Laboratory of Mardivas lets a character make and fight one a week, each from a set combination of Strange Volcanic Rock, Strange Mineralized Water and Strange Oceanic Sediment placed in the laboratory's crystals; the three reagents drop from Nazjatar's creatures · about 3 h over 12 weeks
- Puzzle Performer: every kind of puzzle world quest done once, 3 Leylocked Chests and 18 Runelocked Chests. They begin to appear after the quest line of the Silver Knife, found in a Nazjatar chest, which ends with Treasure Tale; one or two new ones come up every 12 hours, and which ones is chance · about 3 h over 6 weeks
- I Thought You Said They'd Be Rare? and Nazjatarget Eliminated: every rare of Nazjatar still on the list killed once (35; Rockweed Shambler and Anemonar were taken off in patch 11.0.7), several of which have to be made to appear, and all 15 of Azshara's champions, each out only while its own world quest is up · about 8 h over 4 weeks
- Mrrl's Secret Stash: the Crimson Tidestallion bought from Mrrl. It is in his hidden stock, seen only while wearing an Azsh'ari Stormsurger Cape (a chance result of the Benthic Cloak tokens that Prismatic Manapearls pay for), and only on some days, once or twice a month. It takes a Hungry Herald's Tentacle Taco, which Murloco sells for five minutes after being freed in his cave, and the goods from a long chain of trades among Nazjatar's murloc traders · about 3 h over 4 weeks
- The eight lesser ones: Nothing To Scry About (100 Glimmering Chests found with Scrying Stones), Back to the Depths! (the Summons from the Depths event 10 times; it comes every 3 hours), Subaquatic Support (30 Bounty or Requisition quests; a couple come up every 12 hours), Terror of the Tadpoles (100 Bloodfin Tadpoles shooed in Bloodfin Village), Feline Figurines Found (10 figurines), A Fistful of Manapearls (1,000 Prismatic Manapearls), Explore Nazjatar, and Tour of the Depths (a first emissary, world boss, champion, laboratory creation and the like) · about 6 h over 8 days
In all: about 76 h of play, spread over 13 weeks, starting from nothing.

Notes and sources
The place given above is a hub chosen for the route, not a place the mount is handed over: it comes with the achievement, and how it is delivered was not found. The hub is Hunter Akana at Mezzamere and Neri Sharpfin at Newhome, at the coordinates given for the Deepcoral Snapdragon and the Snapdragon Kelpstalker.
The achievement exists once for each faction with the same list, apart from the faction's own reputation and story. Progress has been account-wide since patch 8.3 (wiki; Wowhead's tooltip: 'Account-wide progress'), which is what lets several characters share the gated parts. The two factions' halves seem to be kept apart, though: a 2024 commenter with the meta done as Horde saw the Alliance bodyguards' part unfinished on an Alliance character, so the three characters should be of one faction.
Sixteen achievements, not seventeen: Wowhead's tooltip (as read in 2026) no longer lists Trove Tracker, and a 2025 Wowhead comment reports it dropped from the meta; the wiki's page (edited 2025) and Conquest Capped (2026) still count it. Conquest Capped counts 17 areas for Explore Nazjatar; Wowhead's guide lists 16.
Time: the gates are the bodyguards (90 days, 30 with three characters) and the laboratory (13 weeks on one character). What players report:
- a 2026 commenter finished all of it in 30 days with three characters of one faction and says the laboratory can be done in a day with 13 characters
- one of 2024 took about four months on a single character
- Conquest Capped reckons about three weeks for the laboratory with five characters
The hours in the list are estimates throughout and overlap: the bodyguards' daily quests also pay the reputation and count for Subaquatic Support.
Blizzard has announced that Battle for Azeroth reputations become Warband-wide in patch 12.1.5 (Blizzard Watch, 2026). Whether that patch is out, and how it adds characters' standings together, was not established, and Conquest Capped still says the reputation has to be earned on one character.
Wowhead's guide is the Undersea Usurper chapter of its guide to A Farewell to Arms, the Battle for Azeroth meta-achievement (reward Jani's Trashpile), of which this achievement is one part; it dates from 2025, before Trove Tracker was dropped. The title 'of the Deeps' comes with the mount (wiki). A ground mount (Conquest Capped); the item binds when picked up.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
