X-995 Mechanocat

Built by Pascal-K1N6, the Junkyard Tinkering robot in Rustbolt on Mechagon, as the Mechanocat Laser Pointer: 8 S.P.A.R.E. Crates, 4 Chain Ignitercoils and 5 Energy Cells. He can only build it once Blueprint: Mechanocat Laser Pointer, sold by Cork Stuttguard in Bondo's Yard for 500 gold, has been uploaded to him. No profession is needed.

Guides Wowhead: Comprehensive Mechagon Guide · Warcraft Tavern: X-995 Mechanocat Mount Guide

• Mechagon opened on this character: at level 50 the Nazjatar introduction, from The Wolf's Offensive (Alliance) or The Warchief's Order (Horde) to A Tempered Blade or Save A Friend, which opens Nazjatar's world quests; then The Legend of Mechagon from Tinkmaster Overspark in Boralus Harbor or Gazlowe in Dazar'alor and the island's introduction through Drill Rig Construction and Send My Father a Message, which frees Pascal-K1N6 · about 3 h
• Blueprint: Mechanocat Laser Pointer, 500 gold from Cork Stuttguard in Bondo's Yard (63.2, 43.0), taken to Pascal-K1N6 to upload · about 0.1 h
• The parts: 8 S.P.A.R.E. Crates, which Pascal packs from 250 Spare Parts each (2,000 in all; every creature and chest on the island and the daily quests give Spare Parts), 4 Chain Ignitercoils (the island's rares, each lootable once a day, and some quests) and 5 Energy Cells (looted, or Empty Energy Cells filled at the Charging Station in Bondo's Yard when that project is up) · about 3 h

In all: about 6.1 h of play, 500 gold, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

The journal and Wowhead's tooltip say 'Vendor: Pascal-K1N6', but nothing is sold: he builds the Mechanocat Laser Pointer, the item that teaches the mount, from parts (wiki; Wowhead comments). The recipe shows in his list before the blueprint is bought, greyed out with 'source: find a mechanical enthusiast' (a 2019 Wowhead comment).

That comment says the blueprint costs '500g at friendly', and a reply says the price is the same at Honored. Neither the wiki nor Wowhead's guide lists a Rustbolt Resistance standing for it, so none is counted as a requirement, but whether Cork sells it to a character below Friendly was not established. A character that has done the island's introduction has some standing already.

The mount is account-wide, and the blueprint is gone from the vendor and from Pascal once the mount is known, so buying the blueprint on a second character wastes the 500 gold (Wowhead comments of 2020 and 2021).

Chain Ignitercoils: a 2019 Wowhead comment lists ten rares with their chance to drop one, from 29% (Mecharantula) to 67% (Enforcer KX-T57); those are a player's copy of Wowhead's figures at the time and were not checked against today's.

The coordinates are Wowhead's tooltip positions for the two: Pascal 71.4, 32.4-32.6, and Cork 63.2, 43.0 (a comment gives Cork at 63.34, 42.92).

The mount can be repainted by Marvelous Martini in Bondo's Yard with paint vials found on the island; that is the achievement Available in Eight Colors and not part of getting the mount. Wowhead says 63% of profiles have it.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
