Notes and sources

Only an Exalted character can buy it, so what is paid is 419,430.40 gold: that is what Wowhead's sold-by data shows and what a player reported in 2024. The journal's 524,288 gold is the list price (two to the nineteenth power; the wiki notes it is the number of bytes in 512 kibibytes), and a 2019 comment quotes 445,644.80, the price as seen at Revered. The gold figure given here is the discounted one; a buyer who wants to be safe brings the full 524,288.

The Rustbolt Resistance is a neutral faction, so either side can buy. The Exalted requirement is from the journal, Wowhead's tooltip, the wiki's page for the mount and both guides; the vendor's page on the wiki lists the mount without naming a standing. Coordinates: 73.7, 36.9 from the wiki, Wowhead's guide and wow.gg; Wowhead's tooltip for the vendor has 73.6, 36.4-36.6.

Blizzard has said that Battle for Azeroth reputations, this one among them, become Warband-wide in patch 12.1.5 (Blizzard Watch, 2026), which Blizzard Watch dates to 13 October 2026. Until then Exalted is needed on the buying character, and how standings on several characters will be combined had not been said.

The time to Exalted is the least certain figure: no source measures it, wow.gg's two to three weeks assumes every daily source is done, and Wowhead's guide gives no time. Other sources of reputation the guides name:

  • a scribe's Contract: Rustbolt Resistance (10 more on every Battle for Azeroth world quest, usable from Friendly)
  • two more dailies in the alternate timeline, on the days Chromie is in Rustbolt or with a Personal Time Displacer
  • the boosts of the Darkmoon Faire (10%) and the World Quest Bonus Event (50% on world quests)

Wowhead's guide dates from Battle for Azeroth and still speaks of unlocking flying; the level the Nazjatar introduction asks for is taken from the notes on the other Mechagon mounts. A much-liked 2019 Wowhead comment says the HK-8 Aerial Oppression Unit that patrols Mechagon does not fire at a player on this mount. The item asks for level 10 and binds when picked up (wiki, Wowhead tooltip).

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
