How to get it

Reward of the bonus objective Korrak's Revenge inside the battleground of the same name, the old Alterac Valley that is only open during WoW's Anniversary. The objective appears on entering the battleground and asks for 200 Timewarped Badges earned there, from its quests and from finishing matches, all on one character. A Horde character is given the Frostwolf Snarler and an Alliance character the Stormpike Battle Ram; learning either teaches both.

Before you go

  • 200 Timewarped Badges earned inside Korrak's Revenge on one character, while the event runs: 20 for a win, and 10 each for capturing a tower, a mine and a graveyard, for handing in 20 armor scraps and for the goblin's supply quest, so up to 70 in a first match; the quests come back daily. The battleground is joined from the PvP tab of the Group Finder, from level 10 · about 3 h over 2 days

In all: about 3 h of play, spread over 2 days, starting from nothing.

Notes and sources

The journal still names the achievement Alterac Valley of Olde, but since 2022 the mount comes from the bonus objective (quest 63953), not from the achievement (wiki: 'Now rewarded by Korrak's Revenge', patch 9.2.0; a Blizzard support article quoted in Wowhead comments of 2022, when badges earned before the fix of 10 November stopped counting; comments of 2024). All 200 badges have to be earned on the one character, inside the battleground: badges from elsewhere do not count.

It has come back every year: comments confirm 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, Wowhead's event guide (updated 2025) lists Korrak's Revenge as returning with the mount, and the wiki has the 2025 event on 16 November to 7 December. The 20th anniversary ran much longer, 22 October 2024 to 6 January 2025. The wiki adds of each year 'no guarantees', and no announcement for 2026 had been found when this was written. wow.gg (updated 2026) says the battleground has since the 20th anniversary also turned up in the bonus battleground rotation outside the event; no other source says so and it is not relied on here.

A known fault: the objective reaches 200/200, turns grey and does not hand the mount over. What helped commenters (2022, 2024, 2025) was logging out fully, coming back with addons off, and making sure the quest had been turned in; the mount then sits in the bags.

Faction: the Snarler is a Horde mount in the journal; an Alliance character doing the same objective gets the ram and the Snarler with it (wiki; Wowhead comments of 2019), and a 2019 comment says a character can enter as a mercenary for the other side.

No stop is given: the battleground is queued for from anywhere; the event's own hub is outside the Caverns of Time in Tanaris. A 2022 comment tells of queueing for more than two hours without getting a match. The item is called Frostwolf Snarler (172023) and binds when picked up; Wowhead shows it as attained by 25% of profiles.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
