How to get it

Reward of the achievement Glory of the Ny'alotha Raider: earn the twelve boss achievements of Ny'alotha, the Waking City, one for each of its twelve bosses, on Normal difficulty or higher. Progress is account-wide and is kept between visits. The raid is entered through an obelisk that stands above Vir'naal Dam in Uldum one week and above Whitepetal Lake in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms the next, wherever the Black Empire's assault is.

Inside Ny'alotha, the Waking City, a raid (Normal or higher)

Time there about 2 h a visit

Guides Wowhead: Glory of the Ny'alotha Raider Achievement Guide · Wowhead: Glory of the Ny'alotha Raider, achievement page (a comment of April 2020 goes through all twelve) · Wowhead: Cleansing Treatment, achievement page (the comments on doing it with two players, and on the fault reported in early 2026)

Before you go

  • A week when the entrance is in Uldum, where players report any character can use it. In a Vale week the character has to have the Black Empire campaign far enough for Zidormi and the obelisk to show there: by the wiki until Magni offers A Titanic Problem · 7 days
  • Two players in the raid at the same moment for Cleansing Treatment (Carapace of N'Zoth): in the second phase the Synthesis Growths, sixteen by a comment of January 2026, line two separate tunnels, left and right, and all of them have to die within 10 seconds, so at least one player works each side. They are brought low first and then killed together, after their Adaptive Membrane shield has been cast and has run out

In all: spread over 7 days, starting from nothing.

Getting there

Ny'alotha entrance, obelisk above Vir'naal Dam (in alternate weeks it is above Whitepetal Lake in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms instead, 40.0, 45.5)
Uldum · 55.2, 44
/way Uldum 55.2 44
From Stormwind (Alliance) about 2.2 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Caverns of Time*
  2. Fly the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 2.2 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Caverns of Time*
  2. Fly the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

The entrance is the one given for the Ny'alotha Allseer, whose notes also explain the alternating weeks: Uldum 55.2, 44.0 or the Vale 40.0, 45.5, both from the game's own table. The legendary cloak Ashjra'kamas is no longer needed for the last two bosses (comments of 2024 and 2025; the Ny'alotha Allseer's notes have the same from the wiki).

Wowhead's page for the meta-achievement (14146) shows account-wide progress and says 12% of profiles have it; its tooltip lists the twelve achievements below, as does the wiki. Added in patch 8.3.0 (wiki); the item binds when picked up (Wowhead's tooltip).

By boss (criteria and method from Wowhead's 2021 guide and a 2020 comment on the achievement's page; which achievement goes with which boss is from another 2020 comment):

  • Wrathion, Smoke Test (ten Crackling Shards destroyed within 3 seconds in the second phase, by players carrying the Scales of Wrathion)
  • Maut, Mana Sponge (a Dark Manifestation is kept alive until the second phase, absorbs a mana orb there and is then killed before Maut)
  • The Prophet Skitra, Phase 3: Prophet (the Disciple of the Prophet, at the end of the corridor on the left before the boss, is brought into the fight and killed with the two copies it splits into)
  • Dark Inquisitor Xanesh, Buzzer Beater (three times a Void Orb is put through the goal portal with less than 3 seconds left on the Voidwoken effect that soaking a Void Ritual zone gives)
  • Vexiona, Total Annihilation (every player is hit by a Void Ascendant's Annihilation 30 times before she dies; one cast gives about 20)
  • The Hivemind, Realizing Your Potential (three Promising Specimens are picked up, near the Maw of Gor'ma, in the Ritual Chamber before Xanesh and just before The Hivemind, carried into the fight and killed once they evolve; one player can carry all three)
  • Ra-den the Despoiled, How? Isn't it Obelisk? (the Vita orb is killed so Ra-den is Void Empowered, and the Unstable Void is steered into two obelisks)
  • Shad'har the Insatiable, You Can Pet the Dog, But... (every player uses /pet on him in melee range, one at a time, and has the Bitten Hand effect when he dies)
  • Drest'agath, Temper Tantrum (Throes of Agony set off twice within 60 seconds by killing six tentacles quickly once it is near full energy)
  • Il'gynoth, Bloody Mess (ten Blood of Ny'alotha killed within 3 seconds)
  • Carapace of N'Zoth, Cleansing Treatment
  • N'Zoth the Corruptor, It's Not A Cult (every player reaches 0 Sanity in the last phase and takes the Gift of N'Zoth before he dies)

Two is the least for Cleansing Treatment by its own mechanics. On the other steps the sources differ: Wowhead's guide and the 2020 comment on the achievement's page say How? Isn't it Obelisk? takes five players because the Unstable Void bounces five times, and that the Void Orb of Buzzer Beater is bounced between two; a 2023 comment says every achievement of the twelve except Cleansing Treatment has been done by one character. Which holds today for Ra-den was not established: the page for that achievement was not read.

Cleansing Treatment was reported broken at the start of 2026 (only 6 of 16 growths registering; the comment says it was reported on the forums too), and later 2026 comments report it done. The most recent advises not finishing the Carapace while it walks up the ramp but letting it settle for 5 to 10 seconds first.

Timings that an achievement leaves open (Total Annihilation, Mana Sponge, It's Not A Cult) need the boss kept alive, which at level 90 means holding damage back; no source read gives a method for Midnight. Wowhead's guide recommends the Instance Achievement Tracker addon for Buzzer Beater, Total Annihilation, Bloody Mess and It's Not A Cult.

The time on the spot is an estimate for one clear with every achievement done at the first attempt. No guide for this mount was found at wow.gg (the address its other mount guides follow gives 404).

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
