Elusive Quickhoof

Look it up on WowheadHow to get it
Find the Elusive Quickhoof, a friendly alpaca that turns up at one of about ten points across Vol'dun, talk to it and feed it one Seaside Leafy Greens Mix; it hands over the mount at once. It stays for 10 minutes and then runs off, and everyone who reaches it in that time can feed it. It comes hours apart: recent reports put it about two hours after the zone's shard starts, older ones at three to nine hours.
Time there about 5 min a visit
Before you go
- One Seaside Leafy Greens Mix, bought beforehand: Tukuku at Tortaka Refuge in Vol'dun (62.0, 20.8) sells it in stacks of five, as do other tortollan vendors in Zandalar and Kul Tiras · about 0.1 h
- Waiting for it to turn up: laps of the points with a /target macro, since it shows no marker on the map and rare-spotting addons do not announce it · about 4 h
In all: about 4.1 h of play, starting from nothing.
Getting there
/way Vol'dun 54.6 53.4 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Boralus*
- Take the to Wind's Redemption to Vol'dun*
- Fly the rest of the way
- Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Zuldazar*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
Feeding it always gives the mount; the luck is in being there, so the wait is counted as a requirement and no drop chance is given. Talk to it first, then feed it once (a 2020 comment); it carries a timer that shows how long it will stay. The journal gives only the zone.
Points it has been seen at (Wowhead's top comments of 2020):

- 28.0, 65.0
- 31.1, 67.3
- 42.0, 60.0

- 52.5, 89.0
- 54.0, 83.0
- 54.6, 53.2
- 55.0, 73.0
Wowhead's tooltip for the creature (162681) adds 40.2, 71.8, 55.5, 67.5 and 55.8, 75.8, and shows four positions close together around 54.5, 53.5, which is the place given above. It can wander well away from where it appeared (a 2025 comment). The time on the spot is an estimate for one lap of the points on a flying mount.
The wait is the weak figure. Several comments of 2025 and 2026 describe using the addon NPC Time to read how long the zone's creatures have been alive and finding the alpaca just after the two-hour mark; a 2026 comment got it at 6 h 10 min instead, and a 2025 one guesses two hours is only the least it takes. War Mode on and off are separate shards with their own clocks (a 2026 comment). Comments into 2026 show it is still there.
A 2025 comment says an Alliance character needed level 35 for the campaign quest that gives passage to Vol'dun; how a character gets to Zandalar was not looked into further.
Guides: a conquestcapped.com guide (updated 2026) gives 2-6 hours for the respawn and the same ten points. It is the only walkthrough found, and it is linked with a caution: ConquestCapped sells boosting services and the page advertises them, though the guide itself (the ten points as a waypoint macro, the food, the wait) can be followed without. Wowhead has no guide to this mount, only a one-paragraph preview of 2020 and its general mount lists; Method and wow.gg have none either.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
