Reward of the quest Alpaca It In, which the Friendly Alpaca in Uldum offers once it has been fed seven times. Each feeding is the daily quest Alpaca It Up: hand it one Gersahl Greens, picked from the bushes along Uldum's river. It can be fed once a day, the seven days need not be consecutive, and it has to be found first: it appears at one of 13 spots in the zone's Battle for Azeroth version and stays only some minutes.

Before you go
- Uldum in its present version, the one with N'Zoth's Assaults: a character that sees the zone as it was in Cataclysm speaks with Zidormi in Ramkahen (56.0, 35.2) to change it. The quests ask for level 50 · about 0.1 h
- Seven Gersahl Greens, one for each feeding: small bushes along Uldum's main river, most of them around the Lost City of the Tol'vir in the south. Anyone can pick them; herbalists see them on the minimap. They keep, so all seven can be picked at once · about 0.5 h
- Seven feedings on seven different days: each day fly the round of the 13 spots until the alpaca is found, and hand in the daily quest before it leaves · about 2.5 h over 7 days
In all: about 3.1 h of play, spread over 7 days, starting from nothing.
Getting there
/way Uldum 46.4 48.6 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Caverns of Time*
- Fly the rest of the way
- Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Caverns of Time*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

The 13 spots, as waypoints on the Battle for Azeroth map of Uldum (a 2025 Wowhead comment; Wowhead's tooltip pins for NPC 162765 cluster on the same 13, and the wiki's list agrees to within a point or two):

The place given above is the one in the middle. The alpaca shows on the minimap by its blue daily-quest mark, and a /targetexact Friendly Alpaca macro pressed while flying finds it sooner than the rare-alert addons do (comments of 2024 to 2026). Bring the greens first: several players found it and had none.
It stays about 10 minutes by comments of 2020 and 6.5 to 8 minutes as timed in 2026, fed or not, and any number of players can feed it while it stands. How long until it comes back is where sources disagree:
- 3 to 6 hours (a 2020 comment)
- 30 to 45 minutes somewhere on the map (a 2020 forum post, seen only as a search excerpt)
- within 10 minutes of flying every day (comments of 2025 and 2026)
- about 15 minutes after a fresh copy of the zone starts (2026)
After the seventh feeding the mount does not come by itself: the alpaca offers the quest Alpaca It In (58887), which hands over the reins. The count can be read with /script print(GetQuestObjectiveInfo(58881, 0, false)). A 2024 comment found the daily not offered again until some hours after the day's reset.
The confidence is medium because of reports that progress is lost: comments of 2024, 2025 (three players) and 2026 saw the count of feedings fall back or stand still, one of them after seven days in a row, and two blame leaving Uldum between feedings. Against that, three comments of 2026 got the mount at the seventh feeding although each had left the zone or skipped days.
Feeding in a raid group has counted since a hotfix of 22 January 2020, and the one-day shortcut with a party was removed on 15 January 2020. Whether the alpaca asks for the patch 8.3 opening chain (the Black Empire campaign, as the wiki's page on the alpaca suggests) or only for the right version of the zone was not established; the notes for the Drake of the Four Winds go into the same question for another Uldum creature.
No guide written for this mount was found: Wowhead links only its general mount guides, so the two comment pages are what a player follows.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
