Guide Wowhead: The Story of the Necrolords Covenant Campaign
Before you go
- The first chapter of the Necrolord campaign, Loyal to the Primus: 25 quest steps by the wiki's count, from Report to Mevix to No Rest For the Dead · about 1.5 h
- Necrolord Renown 5, which is the objective of Securing the House, the quest Draka gives just before Enemy at the Door. The first chapter supplies part of it; the rest comes from the weekly quests Replenish the Reservoir and Shaping Fate, and from covenant callings, dungeon and raid bosses and PvP. An account that has had a covenant at Renown 80 can buy the Broker Mark of Distinction from Au'Dara in Oribos for 500 gold, which sets the current covenant's Renown to 60 · about 1 h
In all: about 2.5 h of play, starting from nothing.

Notes and sources
The journal files it as a drop and gives only the covenant and the zone; it is the reward of the quest Enemy at the Door (59555): the wiki names it, and Wowhead's item page, as read in 2026, lists the item as its reward. A character belongs to one covenant at a time, so the quest is done on a Necrolord. The mount is normally usable only by Necrolord members; Renown 80 with the Necrolords makes it usable by every character of the Warband (wiki).
Ragewing waits at Maldraxxus 52.9, 67.7, and Draka stands at 49.7, 50.7 on the sanctum's own map (wiki). The place given above is Draka's spot on the Maldraxxus map as worked out for the Armored War-Bred Tauralus from the game's map tables, taken over without working it out again. The time on the spot is an estimate for the flight on Ragewing.
Renown 5 is the objective of Securing the House, the quest before this one (the wiki's page for it; Wowhead's campaign guide), though the wiki's campaign page has the chapter open at Renown 4 and does not list that quest. The chapter is The House of Eyes on the wiki's campaign page and in Wowhead's guide, The Art of War on the wiki's page for the quest.
Wowhead's guide (last updated 2023) counts The House of Eyes as the third chapter, after a Torghast chapter of nine quests, The Highlord Calls to The Weak Link, which the requirements given here do not count. The wiki's page for Securing the House gives either The Weak Link or Return to Draka as the quest before it, so whether the Torghast quests still have to be done first was not established.
Whether any way of skipping the campaign on a later character still gives the mount was not established. The Armored War-Bred Tauralus is the reward of the same campaign's last quest.
Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
