Rare drop from Sabriel the Bonecleaver in the open-air arena of the Theater of Pain. A Necrolord whose Anima Conductor is at rank 3 channels anima to the Theater of Pain, which opens the daily quest Spoiling For A Fight from Au'narim beside the arena; after several of the arena's elite combatants have been beaten, Sabriel enters in place of Azmogal.
Chance 0.48% once a day, so about 208 tries on average — Wowhead (read 2026-10-10): 186 mounts in 39,026 recorded loots of Sabriel. The count takes in looters of every covenant and Necrolords without the rank 3 stream, none of whom can get the mount, so the chance for a character that can is higher and was never published; a Wowhead comment of February 2021 guesses 1-3%.
Time there about 10 min a visit
Before you go
- Necrolord campaign chapter 1, then the Anima Conductor raised to rank 3: 16,000 anima over its three ranks (1,000, 5,000 and 10,000), 22 Redeemed Souls for the third rank on top of those for the first two, and a day of research for the third. Souls come from the weekly quest Return Lost Souls, 5 a week below Renown 15 rising to 20 a week from Renown 32 · about 12 h over 2 weeks
In all: about 12 h of play, spread over 2 weeks, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
Who can loot it: a 2021 Wowhead news post, as quoted in the item page's comments, says the mount only drops for a Necrolord who has the Anima Conductor at rank 3 and channels anima to the Theater of Pain (an ordinary or a reinforced stream both count); calling Sabriel out oneself is not required.
A search excerpt of Wowhead's conductor guide says that since patch 9.1.5 every unlocked stream is channeled each day, which would do away with choosing the Theater of Pain over the House of Rituals. Before that one stream was opened a day (for 25 anima, by another search excerpt), and every ten days of use made one stream permanent (wiki). A character with low Renown gathers souls slowly: at 5 a week the third rank alone is five weeks.
Au'narim stands at 53.6, 47.6 (wiki); Sabriel's coordinates are from Wowhead's tooltip for her. The time on the spot is an estimate for the combatants that come before her. The daily lockout is the usual once-a-day loot of a Shadowlands rare together with the daily quest; no source read states it outright.
About 208 kills are expected at the recorded 0.48%, which understates the real chance. The mount could at first only be ridden by Necrolords; a Wowhead comment says that no longer holds, without a date.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
