How to get it

Reward of the achievement Things To Do When You're Dead: complete the four achievements of Abominable Stitching, the Necrolord sanctum feature at Butchers Block beside the Seat of the Primus. They are The Gang's All Here (build all sixteen constructs), Abominable Lives (do each of the 31 weekly quests the constructs hand out), Wardrobe Makeover (craft 25 of the 35 fashion accessories) and It's a Wrap (hand 100 Anima-bound Wraps to Summoner Gerard). The mount arrives by mail from Rathan, with the title Abominable.

Before you go

  • The stitching table opened: the Necrolord opening quest, then the twelve quests of Emeni's chain, which pass through Butchers Block and set up the factory, and the first tier of the Abomination Factory bought from Arkadia Moa, Sanctum Upgrades · about 2 h
  • The Abomination Factory raised to its fifth tier: 44,000 Reservoir Anima and 150 Redeemed Souls over the five tiers (1,500 and 6; 5,000 and 12; 10,000 and 22; 12,500 and 40; 15,000 and 70), with research of an hour, 12 hours and three times a day. Souls come 20 at a time from the weekly quest Return Lost Souls and from the repeatable Return More Lost Souls (Osbourne Black), which is offered while fewer than 100 are held · about 17 h over 4 days
  • The Anima Conductor at its first tier (1,000 Reservoir Anima, an hour of research): without it neither the recipe for the Anima-bound Wraps nor Summoner Gerard's quest shows · about 0.5 h
  • The Gang's All Here: all sixteen constructs built, about 246 Malleable Flesh and 53 Superior Parts in all. Fourteen open tier by tier, Unity at the fifth; Miru Soulblossom and Neena first have to be found in Maldraxxus · about 8.5 h
  • Abominable Lives: 31 different weekly quests of the constructs, from Asset Extraction to Bring Your Own. Only some are offered each week and which ones is chance, so the last few can take many weeks to come round · about 10 h over 8 weeks
  • Wardrobe Makeover: 25 of the 35 fashion accessories crafted at the table. Each takes one special part (bought from vendors in the Shadowlands zones, looted from treasures and rares, or dug up by the construct Chordy) and common materials: by a player's list for all 35, 90 Shrouded Cloth, 53 Malleable Flesh, 30 Raw Seraphic Wing, 3 Superior Parts and smaller amounts of Vigil's Torch, Umbryl, Luminous Flux, Laestrite Bolts, Porous Stone, Dark Parchment, thread and dye · about 6 h over 3 days
  • It's a Wrap: 100 Anima-bound Wraps handed to Summoner Gerard at the Bleak Redoubt through his repeatable quest Specter Of War: Visectus, five at a time. The wraps are stitched at the table from the factory's second tier on, five from 10 Shrouded Cloth, so 200 cloth in all · about 1 h

In all: about 45 h of play, spread over 8 weeks, starting from nothing.

Notes and sources

The meta-achievement (14752) needs four achievements (Wowhead's tooltip and pages):

  • 14751 The Gang's All Here
  • 14684 Abominable Lives
  • 14748 Wardrobe Makeover
  • 14753 It's a Wrap

Only a Necrolord can stitch, and a 2022 comment says a character of another covenant does not even see the four criteria. The place given above is the table, as for the Chosen Tauralus: 54.94, 68.81 by a comment; the wiki puts Rathan at 55.1, 68.75, and a 2020 comment has the chain's quest givers at Butchers Block at 55.09, 68.7.

Abominable Lives is what sets the pace: comments from 2024 to 2025 call it the one part still gated by the week, and the eight weeks given are the weak figure, hence medium confidence. How many quests a week are offered and by which constructs was not established; the page for Abominable Lives itself was not read. The quests are tied to the constructs (wow.gg says each built construct offers its own once a week; the wiki lists them under Rathan), so a factory with few constructs probably sees fewer of them; that was not confirmed.

On Redeemed Souls these notes differ from the Chosen Tauralus's, which count them at 20 a week and so put the fifth tier at eight weeks. The wiki's pages for the two soul quests give every character the 20-soul weekly since patch 9.1.5 and add the repeatable quest for 20 more, and 2025 Wowhead comments say the souls can be gathered without a lockout up to the cap of 100. The wiki's Redeemed Soul page still describes 5 to 20 a week by Renown.

Superior Parts come from the constructs' weekly quests (wiki) and from missions at the command table (comments of 2024 and 2026); they have been soulbound since about patch 11.1.7 (a 2025 comment).

Wardrobe Makeover: the parts can be collected from the first tier on, though some recipes show only at higher tiers (Vestigial Wings at the fifth), and rares that drop a part can be killed again the same day for another chance (comments of 2021, 2022 and 2026). A few accessories ask for more, such as Barrel O' Fish, which shows at 200 Shadowlands fishing. The table lists accessories already made alongside the rest, so the achievement's own list is the way to keep track.

It's a Wrap: Gerard's bar fills for the whole zone, but the 100 wraps have to be the character's own (a 2021 comment). Once it is full he summons Visectus against Blackhound Outpost, which opens the Blackhound Cache, itself a source of two accessory parts. A 2026 comment says the achievement comes without the escort. The wiki has no coordinates for Gerard.

Faults on record: the meta-achievement did not show its criteria or fire in patch 9.2.5 and was fixed by a hotfix of 2 June 2022; patch 10.1.5 and the 11.0 pre-patch each wiped progress for a while, restored on 30 July 2024 for most, though one player had to start again later in 2024.

Progress has been account-wide since patch 11.0.0 (wiki; Wowhead's tooltip). Wowhead says 23% of profiles have the meta-achievement. The letter is from Rathan, subject Stitching a New Future Together (a 2021 comment). The mount is normally usable only by Necrolords; the Chosen Tauralus's notes have from the wiki that Renown 80 with the Necrolords opens it to every character.

Guides: Wowhead's Abominable Stitching guide (updated 2025; recipes and tiers) is the one checked for the Chosen Tauralus and was not opened again for this mount. wow.gg's guide to this mount (updated 2026) was read and left out: it misnames the achievements, the constructs and the materials. The item binds when picked up (Wowhead's tooltip).

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
