Rare drop (the Endmire Flyer Tether) from Famu the Infinite, a rare elite devourer in the Endmire of Revendreth, north of the Darkhaven flight point. He is not there until someone speaks to Seeker Hilda, who sits by the fallen building, and picks 'Let's close that rift!': two waves of Invading Mites and a Gorger come first, then Famu. He can be looted once a day.
Chance 0.87% once a day, so about 115 tries on average — Wowhead: 371 tethers in 42,414 recorded loots of Famu the Infinite, read 2026-10-11 (the item's tooltip shows 0.87%)

Getting there
/way Revendreth 62.6 47.2 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Oribos*
- Take the flight master to Revendreth
- Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Oribos*
- Take the flight master to Revendreth
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
Speak to Seeker Hilda (NPC 166483) to start the event. She summons three Invading Mites, then two Mites and an Invading Gorger, then Famu (wiki; Wowhead's guide: 'Speak to Seeker Hilda to start an event. Rare will spawn after 2 waves'). Hilda fights alongside and does not die (comments of 2020-2022). She cannot be spoken to while one of the mites still has her in combat (2021 comment), and for some days in July 2021 she could not be spoken to at all.
Where Famu lands:
- Wowhead's pins: from 62.4, 46.4 to 63.0, 47.6
- the wiki: 62.6, 47.2, for him and for Hilda
- Wowhead's guide: 62.2, 47.0
About 115 daily kills are expected at 0.87%; commenters report 130, 143 and 250 kills, and a 2025 one 'hundreds'. The loot is once a day: a 2020 comment ('Rare can be looted once a day') and a 2022 one from a player running twelve characters a day; nothing newer states the rule.
After a kill the event cannot be started again for a while:
- 'about 30 minutes' in the best-rated comment on this point (2022, +113)
- '30 mins - 1hr' in a 2024 reply
- 35-60 minutes in a 2025 comment whose author believes the rare was hotfixed
So arriving just after someone else's kill can mean a wait of up to an hour, which the 10 minutes on the spot do not count; they are an estimate for the waves and the fight.
No covenant is needed: the wiki lists none, and the level 65 character of a 2024 comment had none. A 2022 comment says Famu does not scale down and gives no loot to low-level characters; a 2024 reply says he does scale in Chromie Time and does not know whether that loot counts.
No step of the event is described as needing several players at the same moment, so no player count is set. Famu's melee is shadow damage, and the Endmire's own stacking debuff is halved by Endmire Salve (2021 comment).
Wowhead's guide is of 2020 and has only the two lines on Famu; it is linked for the place and the trigger.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
