Rare drop from Nalthor the Rimebinder, last boss of The Necrotic Wake, on Mythic. The journal's second source, the Challenger's Cache, is the end chest of a Mythic+ run and only counts in a season whose rotation has the dungeon; Midnight Season 2 does not.
Chance 1% once a week, so about 100 tries on average — commonly cited, not recorded data: the Rarity addon lists 1 in 100 and missingmounts.com 1%, wow.gg says under 1%. Wowhead (read 2026-10-10) has no count on Nalthor the Rimebinder himself; what it records is the keystone end chest, which does not count this season: 226 mounts in 49,948 loots of Challenger's Cache (0.45%) and 67 in 8,859 for a second, newer cache object (0.76%)
