Reward of the Shadowlands adventure Campaign: War-Captain's Woe (level 60, 12 hours, 50 Reservoir Anima), sent from the Command Table in a covenant sanctum. It is one of the last four Campaign adventures, each of which gives a mount, and by the fullest account the third of them: it is offered once 18 earlier Campaign adventures have been won, and winning it gives the mount.

Guides Wowhead: Covenant Adventures: Missions Upgraded for Shadowlands · wow.gg: Highwind Darkmane
Before you go
- The Command Table built in the covenant sanctum: its first tier, Tactical Insight, costs 500 Reservoir Anima and 1 Redeemed Soul and takes one hour of research; a quest then sets up the Scouting Map · about 0.5 h
- 18 Campaign adventures won, the ones whose names begin 'Campaign:' and which each give one Adventure Campaign Progress; the 17th and 18th give the Chittering Animite and the Darkwarren Hardshell. They come one at a time and grow harder, so the companions have to be levelled on ordinary adventures alongside · about 3 h over 4 weeks
- Campaign: War-Captain's Woe itself: 50 Reservoir Anima and the 12-hour timer; the offer stays for one day · 1 days
In all: about 3.5 h of play, spread over 4 weeks, starting from nothing.
Getting there

- Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Oribos*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
Any covenant will do (wow.gg; the wiki names none). The Command Table stands in the character's own covenant sanctum (Elysian Hold, the Seat of the Primus, the Heart of the Forest or Sinfall), so there are four possible places. The place given above is Oribos, the hub every sanctum is reached from, with the coordinates used for the other Command Table mounts; which place to give is still to be decided for all of them.
The fight is in Bastion against a Forsworn War Captain, a Gracefallen Tactician, a Forsworn Javelineer and two Forsworn Protectors, and also pays a Grimoire of Knowledge and one point of Adventure Campaign Progress (wiki). It runs 12 hours and costs 50 Anima, where the other two mount adventures this guide has figures for run 4 hours for 25.
Where it comes in the order rests on players' accounts gathered for the Warstitched Darkhound, and they do not quite agree: a 2021 comment has the four mounts in the order Chittering Animite, Darkwarren Hardshell, Highwind Darkmane, Warstitched Darkhound, while a 2021 Necrolord calls the Darkhound the third of the four gained, which would make this one the last. wow.gg gives no position, only that the adventure 'appears in the rotation' once enough progress is built up; the wording is loose, since by every other account the Campaign adventures come in a fixed order, one at a time.
Progress is a hidden currency (1889); /script print(C_CurrencyInfo.GetCurrencyInfo(1889).quantity) shows it. A 2025 reply says that if no new Campaign adventure is offered after one is won, changing covenant in Oribos and changing straight back brings it up.
wow.gg says the table is not disabled and adventures are still generated as before. It advises five level 60 companions, which is more than the players quoted for the other Command Table mounts needed for theirs (companions of 30 to 45). Winning teams for this adventure were not looked up: Wowhead's item page and its comments were not read for this mount.
These notes follow those for the Chittering Animite, the Darkwarren Hardshell and the Warstitched Darkhound wherever the four share a route. Read for this mount itself: the wiki's pages for the mount and for the adventure, wow.gg's page, and Wowhead's tooltip data ('Adventures: Shadowlands'; binds when picked up). Added in patch 9.0.2 (wiki).
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
