Reward of the achievement Twisting Corridors: Layer 8: finish Layer 8 of the Twisting Corridors, the long wing of Torghast, Tower of the Damned. A run is 18 floors with a boss on floors 6, 12 and 18, and the layers open one after another, so Layers 1 to 7 are run first. Torghast is entered through the portal at Ve'nari's Refuge in the Maw.

Guide wow.gg: Corridor Creeper
Before you go
- Torghast and its Twisting Corridors wing opened on the account: Highlord Bolvar Fordragon's quest line in Oribos, which starts with Into Torghast and runs nine quests to The Weak Link · about 2 h
- Layers 1 to 7 of the Twisting Corridors cleared in order, 18 floors each, to open Layer 8 · about 2.5 h
In all: about 4.5 h of play, starting from nothing.
Getting there
/way The Maw 46.9 41.7 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Oribos*
- Jump into the Maw from the Ring of Transference
- Ride the rest of the way
- Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Oribos*
- Jump into the Maw from the Ring of Transference
- Ride the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
The unlock is the uncertain part. The wiki's Torghast page still says the Twisting Corridors open late in the primary quest line, but the quest that used to open them, Signs of the Lion, was removed in patch 9.1 with the rest of that chain. Blizzard's support page (updated 2026) still lists the removed quests while calling the wing an account-wide unlock with a skip at Bolvar.
The place given is Ve'nari's (wiki), who stands by the portal; flying is not possible in the Maw. Torghast is neither a raid nor a dungeon, so no instance is named.
The Twisting Corridors keep their own layer unlocks, separate from the six ordinary wings (wiki). Whether a layer opened on one character is open on the account's other characters was not established; the achievement itself is account-wide.
On the way:
- Layer 2 gives the pet Death Seeker
- Layer 4 the toy Helm of the Dominated
- Layer 6 the title Spirestalker
A 2026 comment adds that from Layer 6 the floor traps hit hard and a stacking torment sets in. The time on the spot is one Layer 8 run, an estimate from that comment's 20 minutes; a wow.gg guide (updated 2026) says 40 to 90 minutes. The mount can be ridden in the Maw.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
