Look it up on WowheadHow to get it
The blood elf paladin's own second mount. A blood elf paladin is given it on reaching the right level, which the wiki and a Wowhead comment put at 10 and two other sites at 17. No item, vendor or quest is involved any more.
Before you go
- A blood elf paladin levelled to 10, the level at which the wiki says the mount is learned automatically since patch 9.0.1 (17 by warcraftmounts.com) · about 1 h
In all: about 1 h of play, starting from nothing.
Getting there
There is nowhere to travel for this one.
Notes and sources
The journal files it under quests and gives only "Paladin"; there is no item, and the quest chain that once gave it (True Masters of the Light, level 60) was removed in patch 4.0.1 (wiki). No place is given because there is nowhere to travel for the mount.
Who may have it:
- the game's own table gives the mount the condition "Requires Paladin, Blood Elf" with a race mask of blood elves only
- the wiki says Horde paladins of other races cannot use it
- Wowhead's spell page (34767) lists Blood Elf beside two internal Dracthyr visage entries
The level is not settled:
- the wiki's page says it is learned automatically at level 10 since patch 9.0.1 (40 before, with Apprentice instead of Journeyman Riding), and a 2020 Wowhead comment says the same
- warcraftmounts.com has paladins earn a first mount at 10 and this one at 17
- the older Wowpedia page (seen only as a search excerpt) says trained at 17
Level 40 became 17 in the 9.0.1 level squish. Wowhead's retail spell page shows no level, and its page opened at the Mists of Pandaria Classic version (level 40) instead, which does not apply.
Whether Apprentice Riding has to be bought first was not established; the wiki lists it as the riding skill the mount needs. That it is given without a trainer is the wiki's statement; texts from before 2020 name paladin trainers.
Wowhead says 50% of profiles have it. The model was updated in a Midnight hotfix of 18 February 2026 (wiki).
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
