How to get it

Rare drop from the Wild Worldcracker, the rare that ends the event Popo's Potion Patrol in central Korthia. A Kyrian character talks to the steward Popo to start it, walks with him west along the road while he hands out potions and fights Mawsworn, and at the end Popo calls the devourer out of a portal. A Kyrian who loots it may find an Intact Aquilon Core; the core starts a quest of the same name, handed to Deos at Keeper's Respite (62.0, 24.8), who gives the mount.

Chance 0.83% once a day, so about 120 tries on average — Wowhead: 1,100 Intact Aquilon Cores in 132,447 recorded loots of the Wild Worldcracker (read 2026-10-10; its tooltip for the core says 0.83%). The count is over every looter and only Kyrian characters can get the core, so a Kyrian's own chance is higher; by how much is not known (a Wowhead commenter of September 2023 guesses 'over 4x')

Getting there

Popo, central Korthia (start of Popo's Potion Patrol; the Wild Worldcracker appears at 47.0, 35.6)
Korthia · 56.8, 32.2
/way Korthia 56.8 32.2
From Stormwind (Alliance) about 2 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Oribos*
  2. Take the portal to Korthia within the Ring of Transference*
  3. Ride the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 2 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Oribos*
  2. Take the portal to Korthia within the Ring of Transference*
  3. Ride the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

Only a Kyrian can start the event: to others Popo says only 'I wait here for help from Kyrian' (Wowhead comments of 2024). Others can join the kill and loot the rest, but not the core (a 2021 comment, wiki). The loot is once a day for each character (hidden quest 64338, wiki; comments of 2021 and 2024); the rare came back after about 30 minutes in 2021, and the covenant rares were said to 'respawn very commonly'.

What drops is the Intact Aquilon Core (item 187282), not the mount: it starts the quest Intact Aquilon Core (64529, needs level 60), and the quest's reward is the Forsworn Aquilon (wiki, Wowhead).

How many kills to expect cannot be worked out from Wowhead's figure, because it counts every looter: taken as it stands, 0.83% is about 120 daily kills. Commenters report the core on the first kill (2025, from one who wonders whether the chance was raised), after 15 tries, and not after 150.

Where Popo starts: Wowhead's tooltip for him lists a line of points from 56.8, 32.2 west to 47.2, 35.6, and a 2021 comment has him start at 57, 32; the wiki puts the event's marker at 54.0, 35.0. The event is announced by Popo's yell 'Help is on the way, friends!' (Wowhead's guide). The Wild Worldcracker silences for 20 seconds with Severing Roar; running into the shadow of yourself that appears nearby ends it (wiki, comments).

Deos's place is from Wowhead's page for the quest (62, 24.8, Keeper's Respite); the wiki's page for Deos gives central Korthia, 52.9, 36.4, and a wrong creature id. There is no flying in Korthia.

The mount is normally usable only by Kyrian characters; Renown 80 with the Kyrian on some character makes it usable by the whole warband (wiki; the game's own condition says the same). The rare also counts for the achievement Conquering Korthia. The guide linked (updated 2021) is a table of Korthia's rares with a few lines on each, not a walk-through.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
