Before you go

  • Chains of Domination: the whole campaign of patch 9.1. Its second chapter opens Korthia and its daily quests, its third the covenant assaults · about 8 h
  • Exalted with Death's Advance: 42,000 reputation from the Korthia and Maw activities · about 32 h over 7 weeks
  • Tier 6 with The Archivists' Codex: 41,000 reputation, most of it from relics found around Korthia and handed to Archivist Roh-Suir · about 25 h over 4 weeks
  • Reliquary Restoration: the Archivist's 20 relics, which come with Roh-Suir's own quests as the tiers open: What Must Be Found, then Missing Relics at Tier 2, Lost Vaults at Tier 3, Mysterious Rifts and Relic Efficiency at Tier 4 and The Final Relics at Tier 5 · about 4 h
  • On the Offensive: four of the nine covenant assault achievements. An assault is held by one covenant at a time in the Maw, a new one every three and a half days, and each covenant's achievements can only be worked on during its own assault; some hang on a quest that is not offered every time · about 3 h over 2 weeks
  • Minions of the Cold Dark: all 15 Tormentors of Torghast. The event runs every two hours somewhere in the Maw; creatures are killed until a bar fills and one Tormentor appears; which one changes from event to event · about 5 h over 10 days
  • Conquering Korthia: 28 rare encounters in Korthia, the Desmotaeron and the Rift. Seven are only inside the Rift; four start only for a member of one covenant (Escaped Wilderling for a Night Fae, Stygian Stonecrusher for a Venthyr, Wild Worldcracker for a Kyrian, Fleshwing for a Necrolord); Fallen Charger appears at a covenant assault · about 6 h over 7 days
  • Treasures of Korthia (10 treasures, eight in Korthia and two in the Desmotaeron) and Explore Korthia · about 1.5 h

In all: about 84.5 h of play, spread over 7 weeks, starting from nothing.

Getting there

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

Nine achievements: Wowhead's achievement page and its Korthia guide (updated 2025) list nine; the wiki's page for Breaking the Chains lists eight, leaving out Conquering Korthia, whose own wiki page names it as a criterion. The journal's zone line, 'Korthia and The Maw', is the achievement's category.

Progress on the meta and on its parts is shared by the account (patch 11.0, wiki), which also answers the four covenant-bound rares: a character of that covenant has to start each, one's own or somebody else's.

For a long time the mount could not be earned: the Tormentors of Torghast event stopped starting (no progress bar) from about July 2023, which blocked Minions of the Cold Dark. Wowhead comments report it working again in 2025 and once more in January 2026, the month wow.gg dates the fix to. A 2026 reply says 'It's fixed, but I don't see no mount', with no follow-up. In September 2021 the mount also failed to arrive until a hotfix, and wow.gg says it comes by mail.

The longest waits run side by side:

  • Death's Advance (about seven weeks at the rate this guide uses; the Korthia mounts here have both reputations shared by the warband)
  • the Codex
  • the assaults
  • the Tormentors

A top comment of 2021 called On the Offensive the roadblock, when it asked for more of the assault achievements. The nine it now picks four from:

  • United Front
  • This Army
  • The Zovaal Shuffle
  • A Sly Fox
  • Krrprripripkraak's Heroes
  • Jailer's Personal Stash
  • Up For Grabs
  • Hoarders: Torghast Edition
  • Tea is Served

An alt can skip to Korthia at Bolvar in Oribos once the account has done the campaign's third chapter (Wowhead's guide). Wowhead also has a Covenant Assaults guide and a Korthia Rares guide listed on the achievement's page; they were not opened. wow.gg's guide (updated 2026) agrees on the nine, but its times are its own guesses.

The place given is Roh-Suir's spot, as for the Soaring Razorwing; there is no flying in Korthia.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
