Look it up on WowheadHow to get it
Feed ten Tasty Mawshrooms to Darkmaul, a friendly shardhide asleep west of the Mauler's Outlook in Korthia: target him and use the mushroom from the bags, and he takes the character for a ride. With the tenth the mount lands in the bags. A Tasty Mawshroom is an occasional find in the Invasive Mawshrooms, treasure nodes on trees and bone heaps all over Korthia, of which a character can loot five a day.
Time there about 10 min a visit
Before you go
- Korthia opened: the Chains of Domination campaign through its second chapter, Maw Walkers, which brings the portal from Oribos and Korthia's daily content · about 2.5 h
- 10 Tasty Mawshrooms from Invasive Mawshrooms: five of those can be looted a day, each at one of several spots, and most of them hold no Tasty Mawshroom. The ten can be saved up and fed in one go · about 10 h over 6 weeks
In all: about 12.5 h of play, spread over 6 weeks, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
The mount itself is certain at ten feedings (wiki, Wowhead's guide, comments); what is left to chance is the mushrooms, and that is the weak figure. Guesses on Wowhead run from 10-20% a node (test realm, 2021) down to 5% (2026), and the counts quoted under the requirements work out at roughly 3-8% a node.
Keep all ten and feed them in one sitting: the hidden count has been wiped for players more than once (with patch 9.2 in February 2022, with 11.1.5 in April 2025, and again in February and July 2026, 8 of 10 back to 0), and a Game Master could not restore it. The count can be read with /run print(select(4, GetQuestObjectiveInfo(64376, 0, false))).
Credit is given the moment the character is on his back (a 2021 comment). Later comments differ on whether the two-minute ride can be cut short (2022: jump off; 2023: wait it out or log out; 2025: feed, dismount, feed again), hence ten minutes on the spot as an estimate. Darkmaul is at 42.8, 32.7 by the comments (Wowhead's tooltip 42.4-42.6, 32.4-33.2; wiki 42.9, 32.7).
The five mushrooms are five different objects, each with its own set of spots (a 2021 comment):
- mushroom 1: 54.2, 41.2; 56.8, 51.5; 57.3, 39.4; 58.2, 40.5; 60.3, 41.6; 60.7, 38.2
- mushroom 2: 48.5, 41.2; 49.4, 40.7; 49.5, 31.7; 49.9, 32.5; 51.4, 46.8; 53.7, 37.9
- mushroom 3: 42.1, 35.8; 42.3, 34.6; 43.6, 36.6; 45.6, 34.3; 52.4, 25.0; 55.1, 16.4
- mushroom 4: 35.7, 31.1; 37.4, 34.7; 38.8, 33.8; 39.5, 30.7; 39.7, 34.8; 42.0, 32.5
- mushroom 5: 39.6, 30.0; 41.2, 44.9; 43.4, 56.3; 45.2, 47.9; 46.5, 48.5; 54.8, 55.5
Many sit on top of trees and bone formations; a 2026 comment recommends a warlock and Goblin Gliders. A looted mushroom is back for the next player after 10-15 minutes (a 2021 test-realm comment). Players confirm the Tasty Mawshrooms still drop in 2025 and 2026; one in 2026 looted several mushrooms and found only Evolving Mawshrooms in them.
Other sites differ: ginx.tv says six feedings, and warcraftmounts.com describes a chance at the mount on every ride; Wowhead and the wiki both say ten.
The journal says only 'Zone: Korthia' and files the mount under drops; Wowhead's item page lists it as the reward of a hidden quest (64376), which counts the feedings. Korthia is taken to have no flying, as for the other Korthia mounts in this guide. Wowhead's Korthia guide (updated 2025) has a Darkmaul section with a map of the mushrooms and lists the daily cap of five.
