Notes and sources
The schematic is given only to the first character on the account to open the mount forge (Wowhead's Protoform Synthesis guide, updated 2025). The mount shares its research gate and forge with the Goldplate Bufonid, so the two are one project.
The guide agrees with the route: the mount forge opens with the Sopranian Understanding research and the quest lines The Final Song and A New Architect, begun with Finding Tahli, and A New Architect rewards the Deathrunner schematic.
It lists the craft as 450 Genesis Motes, a Cervid Lattice and the Tools of Incomprehensible Experimentation, and puts the Protoform Repository's cave at 68.5, 30.1.
