Craft it at the mount Synthesis Forge in Zereth Mortis from Schematic: Sundered Zerethsteed, 300 Genesis Motes, a Cervid Lattice and a Mawforged Bridle. The schematic is in the Mawsworn Cache, a treasure in the Endless Sands; the bridle comes out of the High Value Cache inside the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid, on Normal difficulty or higher, once a week.

Notes and sources
The journal says only 'Protoform Synthesis'. The mount shares its 10-day research gate and the forge unlock with the other Protoform Synthesis mounts, and the Mawforged Bridle with the Darkened Vombata and the Mawdapted Raptora, so three bridles are three weekly caches. The bridle binds to the Warband, so other characters with the mount forge open can fetch them (Wowhead comments of 2022 and 2025).
The bridle is the one part that needs the raid. The top Wowhead comment (edited 2024) says it is a guaranteed drop from the High Value Cache with a weekly lockout, and that the cache does not appear on Raid Finder. Whether that lockout is per account is not settled: a 2023 comment found it account-wide, while a 2022 one says several characters could loot it in the same week.
Comments say one orb opens the cache for the whole group, and that with the raid lockout extended the cache can be reached the following weeks without the first boss. It still works in Midnight: 2026 comments report the orb dropping, but say that the Synergy stacks no longer show on his nameplate (he grows and glows blue), and that he has to die before the creatures around him, or the stacks are lost and no orb drops.
The other source is the Olea Cache, 700 Cyphers of the First Ones from Olea Manu outside Exile's Hollow after the Jiro to Hero story: the wiki says a small chance, the top Wowhead comment says 0.5%, a player's figure and not a recorded loot count.
The schematic: Wowhead's guide (updated 2025) says that if the Mawsworn Cache was looted before the mount forge was opened, the schematic lies at the same spot; the wiki lists the cache's contents as 200 Cosmic Flux, 19 Cyphers and the schematic. wow.gg says the cache lies between two cages among ordinary creatures.
The guide puts the forge's cave at 68.5, 30.1; the place given above is the spot used for this guide's other forge mounts. The raid is not given as the instance because the mount is made at the forge; the raid visit is one of the requirements.
