How to get it

Craft it at the mount forge of Protoform Synthesis in Zereth Mortis from Schematic: Bronzewing Vespoid, 350 Genesis Motes, a Vespoid Lattice and an Unalloyed Bronze Ingot. The schematic lies in a small structure inside the Gravid Repose. The ingot is the hard part: it is a chance reward from the Requisites Originator, a machine in the Repertory Alcove, a hidden room reached through the Gravid Repose's Locus Shifts, and the machine answers only once a week.

Chance The chance here is that of the weekly try for the Unalloyed Bronze Ingot at the Requisites Originator; the craft itself is certain. No recorded figure: Wowhead has no loot count for the machine. The best-rated comment (March 2022) guesses under 10%; other commenters got 2 ingots in 10-15 tries (June 2022), one on the third and one on the fourth try (June 2025), and one after 'a couple of weeks' (March 2026). The only count Wowhead holds is for the other source, the Olea Cache: 137 ingots in 22,954 caches (0.60%, read 2026-10-10)

Before you go

  • Cypher research timers: Aealic 18 h, Dealic 3 d 18 h, Sopranian 5 d 18 h, one after another · 10.25 days
  • Zereth Mortis campaign to chapter 3, which opens the Cypher Console, and 470 Cyphers of the First Ones · about 5 h
  • The quests that open the mount forge once Sopranian Understanding is researched: Finding Tahli and the chain after it (The Final Song), then after a daily reset The Lost Component and A New Architect. The forge is the Servitor Interface in the Protoform Repository (70.2, 28.6) · about 1.5 h over 2 days
  • Zereth Mortis campaign on through chapter 6, A Means to an End: only then does the rune that opens the Repertory Alcove show (chapters 4 to 6 are 18, 17 and 11 quests) · about 4 h
  • The Repertory Alcove opened once: touch the Repertory Alcove Arrangement, a glowing rune on the left wall just inside the Terrestial Cache cave, as the comments spell it (rune 49.6, 31.0; cave entrance about 48.8, 30.4), north of the Gravid Repose · about 0.25 h
  • The schematic: inside the Gravid Repose (entrance 50.6, 31.8) take the ramp to the right; it is in the small structure at the top. It starts Schematic Reassimilation: Bronzewing Vespoid, handed in at the forge · about 0.25 h
  • An Unalloyed Bronze Ingot from the Requisites Originator, one try a week: gather 60 Cosmic Energy, take the Locus Shift in the Gravid Repose to the Interior Locus (the Inner Chamber), there the second Locus Shift at the far side of the room (the Arcae Locus) to the Repertory Alcove, and choose the machine's fourth option, Restore Genesis Potencies. It always gives 20-25 Genesis Motes and sometimes the ingot; every option is then shut until the weekly reset · about 0.25 h
  • 350 Genesis Motes (most creatures in Zereth Mortis) and a Vespoid Lattice (the zone's wasps: Vespoid Workers around 50-52, 41-43, likelier from rare ones such as Feasting and Zatojin) · about 1.5 h

In all: about 12.8 h of play, spread over 10.25 days, starting from nothing.

Notes and sources

The journal says only 'Protoform Synthesis'. The drop and lockout given here are for the weekly try for the ingot, the one part of the craft left to luck; everything else is done once. The place given above is the Gravid Repose, where the schematic is and where each weekly try starts; the forge where the mount is finally made is at 70.2, 28.6 in the Protoform Repository, the spot this guide's other forge mounts use.

The recipe is 350 Genesis Motes, 1 Unalloyed Bronze Ingot and 1 Vespoid Lattice by the wiki and by Wowhead's database (the reagent list on the ingot's page); the table in Wowhead's guide says 400 motes, which looks like a slip.

The ingot binds to the Warband and is Unique (2) (wiki), and the only other mount that uses it is the Bronze Helicid. A second character can make the weekly try as well, but each needs chapter 6 for itself (a 2024 comment). The Requisites Originator's six options share the one weekly use, so choosing another option spends the week.

The best-rated comment thought the mount forge might have to be open before the machine gives an ingot, without confirming it; Wowhead's guide says the mount-only rare reagents do not appear before Sopranian Understanding is researched and the forge quests are done. The same comment lists Metrial and Aealic Understanding as the research needed to read the machine, both covered by the research above.

Cosmic Energy is gathered in the Resonant Peaks around the Gravid Repose, and a Locus Shift costs 30 (the Vespoid Flutterer's notes, from the wiki), hence 60 for the two shifts. A 2022 comment says flying in Zereth Mortis is needed to get there; nothing else says so, and it was not checked. An Olea Cache is sold by Olea Manu for Cyphers of the First Ones, and its chance is far lower.

For the Gravid Repose, Wowhead's guide gives 50.6, 31.8 for the entrance, comments 50.59, 32.06 and 50.64, 31.88. The wiki has no page for the Requisites Originator, and its page for the schematic names no source.

The mount shares its research gate of about 10 days and the forge unlock with the other Protoform Synthesis mounts, and the Vespoid Lattice with Buzz, the Forged Spiteflyer and the Vespoid Flutterer; the lattice's tooltip shows no binding, so it can be sold on the auction house, a mention only. A flying mount; the item binds when picked up and asks for level 10 (wiki). Wowhead's guide was last updated in 2025.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
