Bronze Helicid

Craft it at the mount Synthesis Forge in Zereth Mortis from Schematic: Bronze Helicid, 400 Genesis Motes, a Helicid Lattice and an Unalloyed Bronze Ingot. The schematic is the part left to luck: it has a small chance to be in the Tribute of the Enlightened Elders, the chest Highlord Bolvar Fordragon in Haven gives for the zone's weekly quest, Patterns Within Patterns, and only once the mount forge is unlocked. The ingot is a chance reward from the Requisites Originator, a machine in a hidden room of the Gravid Repose that answers once a week.

Chance 4.85% once a week, so about 21 tries on average — The chance is that of the schematic in one weekly chest; the craft itself is certain. Wowhead's page for the schematic (read 2026-10-11): 2,697 schematics in 55,637 opened Tributes of the Enlightened Elders (item 191139, the reward of quest 66042). The count takes in chests opened by characters whose mount forge was not yet unlocked, which cannot hold it, so the chance for a character that qualifies is probably higher. /way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

The journal says only 'Protoform Synthesis'. About 21 weekly chests are expected at 4.85%, which makes this one of the slowest of the forge's mounts for a single character. Each character has its own weekly quest and its own chest, but the schematic binds when picked up and is unique (Wowhead tooltip), so the character that finds it is the one that hands it in at the forge. Whether the forge unlock counts for the whole account or each character needs its own was not established.

The place given above is Bolvar in Haven, where the weekly quest is taken and handed in (Wowhead's tooltip for npc 181183: 35.0, 64.8 in Zereth Mortis); the 120 minutes on the spot are one week's quest, done all over the zone.

The quest: Wowhead has it as a weekly at level 60, started and ended by Highlord Bolvar Fordragon, paying the chest and 1,250 reputation with The Enlightened; the wiki (edited 2023) adds an Emblem of Renown, 400 Cosmic Flux and Grateful Offerings. It began as a three-day quest (quest 65324, with the chest as item 190610, which is the one the wiki's pages still name) and was made weekly in March 2022 with smaller shares for each activity.

The shares, from 2022 comments:

A 2022 player filled it in 5 to 7 days with the world boss, the daily cache puzzle quest and whatever chests and rares lay on the way. Progress is kept from week to week (comments of 2022 and 2024), though patch 10.0 wiped it once. The warmode quest A New Deal that used to give 35% is gone (comments of 2024 and 2025). A 2025 comment found the quest missing from the log although Bolvar treated it as taken; a reply says to click the campaign shield in the middle of the map.

The wiki lists the chest's contents as 1-2 Anima Matrix, Cyphers of the First Ones, gold and a chance at a Progenitor Essentia, Cypher Equipment and the schematic, without figures. A 2022 comment on the schematic asked whether chests should be kept unopened until the research is done; nobody answered.

The ingot: the Bronzewing Vespoid's notes (1535) cover it at length. It binds to the Warband and is Unique (2), the two mounts need one each, and the machine's six options share the one weekly use.

The mount shares its research gate of about 10 days and the forge unlock with the other Protoform Synthesis mounts, the ingot with the Bronzewing Vespoid, and the lattice with Serenade, the Unsuccessful Prototype Fleetpod and the Scarlet Helicid. Wowhead's guide (last edited 2025) was not read again for this mount. The item asks for level 10 and binds when picked up (wiki).
