Time there about 2 min a visit
Before you go
- Exalted with the Kurenai (Alliance) or The Mag'har (Horde): Nagrand's quests bring it close to Revered, then Nagrand ogres, which give 10 reputation a kill and drop Obsidian Warbeads, 10 of which hand in for 500; about 1,600 ogres if no Nagrand quests are done · about 3.5 h
- 100 gold
In all: about 3.5 h of play, 100 gold, starting from nothing.
Getting there

- Fly the rest of the way
/way Nagrand 53.4 36.8 - Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Shattrath*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight

Notes and sources
Alliance characters start Unfriendly with the Kurenai (wiki); by this guide's other talbuks (the Cobalt and Tan War Talbuks, from the wiki), Horde characters are Unfriendly with The Mag'har until the Hellfire Peninsula quest A Spirit Guide makes them Neutral. The same standing opens the other seven talbuk mounts at these two vendors (four riding talbuks at 70 gold, four war talbuks at 100).
The wiki's Kurenai page says the non-repeatable quests bring a character close to Revered and that the repeatable More Warbeads carries on from there: 10 Obsidian Warbeads for 500, to Warden Moi'bff Jill in Telaar (for the Horde, Proving Your Strength to Warden Bullrok in Garadar, by the notes for the Cobalt and Tan War Talbuks). Any ogre in Nagrand gives 10 a kill and may drop the beads, and beads left over after Exalted go to the Consortium.
The speed of the grind in the current game was not measured, only the per-kill figures, and the rate at which ogres drop warbeads is taken from the other talbuks' notes.
Two items teach this mount, one for each faction's vendor: 29229 from Narasu (Wowhead's tooltip lists only Alliance races and 'Requires Kurenai - Exalted') and 29104 from Nasela. The wiki has the reins at level 17 with Apprentice Riding since patch 9.0.1; Wowhead's tooltip shows Apprentice Riding and no level.
Vendor coordinates are Wowhead's tooltip positions as read for the Cobalt War Talbuk in 2026 (Narasu 54.4-54.6, 75.0-75.2; Nasela 53.4-53.6, 36.8-37.0), not read again; the wiki places Narasu 'on the east side of the inn, outside' and gives no figures. Of Wowhead, only the tooltip for item 29229 was read for this mount. No guide is linked: none was found for these two reputations for the other talbuks, and none was looked for again.
Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
