Reward of the quest Calling the Blue Dragons, the first quest of Vakthros, the fourth chapter of the Azure Span storyline of the Dragon Isles campaign. Kalecgos gives it and takes it in on the spot: speaking to him plays a scene in which he calls the blue dragons back. The mount comes as an item in the bags and has to be used.

Notes and sources
The drake comes from the quest (66027) given by Kalecgos; Wowhead's tooltip for it has the one objective, 'Kalecgos spoken to'. The coordinates are the wiki's for Kalecgos, 39.5, 63.0; Wowhead's tooltip for him (npc 186280) has 39.4, 63.0. The quest before it is Azure Alignment, the one after it To Rhonin's Shield. Learning the mount awards the achievement An Azure Ally, and the quest also unlocks the Skyriding ability Whirling Surge (wiki).
The journal files it under an achievement, 'Dragon Isles: Highland Drake'; no achievement of that name was found to work towards, and the wiki and wow.gg (updated 2026) both give the quest.
wow.gg calls the chapter before it 'Rotting Roots' and says Kalecgos will not offer the quest until it is done; the wiki names that chapter Decayed Roots. wow.gg also says the storyline is tracked by 'Sojourner of the Azure Span' with 52 quests, which does not match the wiki's list and was not checked.
An account that has finished the Dragon Isles campaign once has Adventure Mode, which lets later characters take the zones in any order from the Scouting Map in the Waking Shores (wiki). It only unlocks at the end of the Thaldraszus storyline, so an account still missing this drake will normally not have it. Whether Midnight changed the order a first character has to play the Dragon Isles zones in, or grants the drake some other way, was not established.
The item has asked for level 10 since patch 10.2.7 (58 before) and binds when picked up (wiki). Two items are listed for the mount, 194106 and 194705; the wiki's page is for 194705 and Wowhead's stored tooltip for 194106, with the same source line. The mount list carries a second, hidden entry of the same name (mount 1771) with the same journal text; what tells the two apart was not looked into. No Wowhead guide to earning the drake was looked for beyond this guide's finding for the other three drakes, that Wowhead's pages on them are about customizations.
Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
