How to get it

Reward of the achievement Flawless Master (Layer 16): a Flawless run, which is five gems or 200 points on the score screen, on Layer 16 of each of the six ordinary wings of Torghast, Tower of the Damned: The Upper Reaches, The Soulforges, Skoldus Hall, Mort'regar, Coldheart Interstitia and Fracture Chambers. The achievement gives the Sturdy Gilded Mawrat Harness, which teaches the mount. Torghast is entered through the portal at Ve'nari's Refuge in the Maw.

Before you go

Torghast opened on the account: Highlord Bolvar Fordragon's quest line in Oribos, which starts with Into Torghast · about 2 h
Layer 16 opened: Layers 1 to 8 are open from the start, Layers 9 to 12 open with one finished run of Layer 8, and each of Layers 13 to 16 opens with a finished run of the layer below, so five runs (Layers 8, 12, 13, 14 and 15), in any wing · about 1.5 h

In all: about 3.5 h of play, starting from nothing.

Notes and sources

The journal names the achievement; its criteria are the six wing achievements, one 'Flawless:' for each wing (Layer 16), and progress is account-wide (Wowhead's achievement page, wiki). It was added with Layers 13 to 16 in patch 9.2 and has stayed obtainable since (Wowhead replies of 2022 and 2024; 35% of Wowhead's profiles have it). A Flawless Layer 16 run also gives that wing's Flawless Layer 12 (a 2022 Wowhead comment), so the six runs earn the Mawsworn Charger as well.

Sources disagree on how layers open:

Wowhead's scoring guide (last updated 2021) says a run of at least 160 points, four gems, is needed to move up a layer, and the body of the wiki's Torghast page still describes that and two wings a week
Icy Veins' guide, updated for patch 9.2.5, says that patch opened all wings at all times, opened Layers 1 to 8 by default, opens 9 to 12 with a finished Layer 8, and each of 13 to 16 with a finished run of the layer before

This guide follows Icy Veins as the later source; the Mawsworn Charger's notes count eleven runs of 160 points instead. A search excerpt of a Wowhead news item reports a Blizzard hotfix giving an account's other characters access to a layer one character has finished; the item itself was not read.

The score (Wowhead's guide):

up to 100 points for completion (creatures killed, Soul Remnants freed, Ashen Phylacteries broken)
about 30 for finishing at the par time and up to 20 more for finishing well under it (par roughly 22 to 26 minutes on the higher layers)
bonus points for what is done while Empowered
fixed extras for feats such as killing the last boss within 20 seconds
20 off for every death

Wowhead comments: at level 70 everything died in one hit (2022); each wing's blessings and torments change with the reset, so a bad set can be waited out (2022). No report from Midnight was found on Wowhead: the newest comment on the achievement is a 2024 reply. wow.gg's guide for the harness (updated 2026) says a level 90 character clears Layer 16 without difficulty, but it also says two wings rotate weekly and speaks of a drop chance, so it is not linked and nothing is taken from it.

Torghast is neither a raid nor a dungeon, so no instance is named. The place given above is the one the Mawsworn Charger uses, Ve'nari's spot by the portal, and there is no flying in the Maw. The time on the spot is the six runs, an estimate at 15 to 20 minutes each.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
