Reward of the quest Back to the Future, the climax of the Thaldraszus storyline of the Dragon Isles campaign. Chromie gives it at the end of the storyline's trip through the timelines and Nozdormu takes it in at the Temporal Conflux. The mount comes as an item in the bags and has to be used.
Time there about 10 min a visit
Before you go
- The Dragon Isles reached and the three storylines before Thaldraszus played: the Waking Shores, the Ohn'ahran Plains and the Azure Span, in that order on an account without Adventure Mode · about 9 h
- The Thaldraszus storyline up to Back to the Future: 45 quests in three chapters (Valdrakken, City of Dragons; Time Management; Big Time Adventurer) · about 3 h
In all: about 12 h of play, starting from nothing.
Getting there
/way Thaldraszus 60.1 82.5 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Valdrakken*
- Fly the rest of the way
- Take the portal from Orgrimmar to Valdrakken*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
Chromie gives the quest at 53.4, 44.0 on the map of the Black Empire timeline it plays in (wiki; wow.gg has 53.2, 44.2); the place given above is the hand-in. The quest is a defence against the Black Empire until a portal opens; the time on the spot is an estimate. Learning the mount awards the achievement Cliffside Companion, and the quest also unlocks the Bronze Timelock ability (wiki).
The journal files it under an achievement, 'Dragon Isles: Cliffside Wylderdrake'; no achievement of that name could be found to work towards, and the wiki and wow.gg (updated 2026) both give the quest.
An account that has finished the Dragon Isles campaign once has Adventure Mode, which lets later characters take the zones in any order from the Scouting Map in the Waking Shores, but it only unlocks with Moving On, the quest after this one, so an account still missing the mount will not have it. Whether Midnight changed the order a first character has to play the Dragon Isles zones in was not established.
The item has asked for level 10 since patch 10.2.7 (58 before). Wowhead has no guide to earning the drake that could be found; its Cliffside Wylderdrake guide is about customizations.
Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
