Look it up on WowheadHow to get it
Hatches from a Nether-Warped Egg seven days after the egg is caught. The egg is fished up, very rarely, from open water in the Voidstorm: players fish the blood pool at Slayer's Rise, by the Voidscar Arena entrance. It is also found, rarely, in the Patient Treasure chests that fishing anywhere in Midnight sometimes brings up. No fishing skill level, pole or bait is asked.
Chance 5.8% per try, so about 17 tries on average — Worked out, not read as such; the chance of an egg in one hour of fishing. Wowhead's page for the Nether-Warped Egg (read 2026-10-11) records 55 eggs in 247,578 fishing loots in Masters' Perch, its name for the open-world Slayer's Rise, and 1 in 5,549 in the rest of the Voidstorm: 56 in 253,127, or 0.022% a cast. At about 270 casts an hour (the figure this guide's Pond Nettle record uses; a commenter of September 2026 made 64 casts in 15 minutes) one hour gives 1 - (1 - 0.000221)^270 = 5.8%. The chests come on top and are not counted: Wowhead has 55 eggs in 7,199 Patient Treasures (0.76% a chest) and 4 in 566 Grand Line Treasures (0.71%), but nothing records how often a chest comes up. Neither tooltip gives a figure

Getting there
/way Slayer's Rise 50 30 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Silvermoon*
- Take the portal from Silvermoon to Voidstorm*
- Fly the rest of the way
- Take the portal from Orgrimmar to Silvermoon*
- Take the portal from Silvermoon to Voidstorm*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
The players' usual place is open water at Slayer's Rise, /way 50 30: Wowhead's top comment (2026) caught the egg there, not from a chest and not from an Oceanic Vortex pool, and comments through 2026 name the same blood pool near the Voidscar Arena entrance. That waypoint is taken to be on the Slayer's Rise map, the one a player standing there has open; on the Voidstorm map the same spot works out at about 50, 17 by the game's map tables. That reading was not checked in the game.
The pool spawns Blood Hunters while one fishes; commenters use an Amani Angler's Ward against them.
One visit is counted as an hour of fishing, and there is no lockout. At Wowhead's rate about 4,500 casts, some 17 hours, are expected from the water alone; the counts players post run from 15, 28 and 64 casts to 13,000, 14,000 and 16,000-20,000.
The journal and Wowhead's tooltip for the mount say only 'Profession: Voidstorm Fishing'. The wiki's pages for the mount and the egg (both edited 2026) say the egg 'can rarely be fished up in the Voidstorm' and is also in the Patient Treasure chests 'that sometimes appear when fishing in any Midnight zone'. The wiki has no page for the Patient Treasure.
On the chests, a commenter who watched a group for five hours saw five eggs, three from chests and two from open water, and found the chests wholly a matter of luck (none for him, more than ten for his neighbour). The Midnight Angler's Grand Line is said to double them, and Wowhead lists a Grand Line Treasure as a second chest. Comments of 2026 report eggs from chests on The Coiled Isle, and Wowhead has one fishing catch in The Den.
wow-professions.com says most Voidstorm water is too shallow to fish and gives two other open-water spots, Voidstorm 35.9, 47.1 and 35.2, 46.0.
The egg binds when picked up and cannot be traded; the mount binds to the Warband (Wowhead's tooltips). On the hatching, a 2026 comment says the countdown on the egg looked stuck but it hatched, and a later one that the timer kept resetting until the egg was left in the bank for a week.
The mount was called Nether-Warped Drake until patch 12.0.5; it was added in patch 12.0.1. No step-by-step guide was found that is not a boosting service's page, so none is linked.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
