Look it up on WowheadHow to get it
A chance find in Expedition Scout's Packs, the small supply packs that lie all over the Dragon Isles and show on the minimap. A pack can only hold the mount once the Dragonscale Expedition is at Renown 25.
Chance No recorded figure: Wowhead's item page has no loot table for it (read 2026-10-10), and neither the wiki nor Warcraft Mounts gives a chance. Players guess 1-2% (Wowhead comment of December 2022); the Rarity addon uses 1 in 100 and marks it 'Blind guess'. Wowhead commenters report the mount after 5, 15, about 20, 25, 35-40, about 40, 95, about 100, 206 and 571 packs, and others 200 and 350 packs without it (2022 to 2026)

Guide Wowhead: Dragonscale Expedition - Dragonflight Renown Reputation Guide
Before you go
- Renown 25 with the Dragonscale Expedition: 62,500 reputation at 2,500 a level, from the expedition's world quests, Dragon Isles Artifacts handed in, the Archivist Request quests, flags planted on mountain peaks and its own quest lines. Warband-wide since patch 11.0, so it may already be done on the account · about 20 h over 2 weeks
In all: about 20 h of play, spread over 2 weeks, starting from nothing.
Getting there
/way Ohn'ahran Plains 70.6 68.4 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Valdrakken*
- Fly the rest of the way
- Take the portal from Orgrimmar to Valdrakken*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
The packs only hold the mount once the expedition is at Renown 25 (wiki; Wowhead's renown guide lists it under the Renown 25 unlock "Skitterflying", account-wide); the journal's three lines are that one condition, not three sources. A low-level character gets it too once the warband has the renown: comments report it on characters of level 20 and 34 (2026, 2025) and after patch 11.0 (2024).
There is no lockout, so the pace is how many packs an hour of flying finds. Commenters give:
- about 25 packs in an hour
- about 40 in two hours
- 50-100 in two hours
The time on the spot is one such hour, an estimate; at the 1 in 100 that players and Rarity guess, that would be three or four hours in all, which no source measures.
Packs are in all four zones (Rarity lists the Waking Shores, Ohn'ahran Plains, the Azure Span and Thaldraszus). Commenters of 2023 found more in the Ohn'ahran Plains than in the Waking Shores, and most away from the rivers, where Tuskarr Tackleboxes take the spots instead.
The place given is a pack one commenter looted the mount from in 2024 (70.65, 68.40, a ledge with a tree in front of a waterfall), only as a place to start. Other finds:
- Hornspike Nest in the Waking Shores (2025)
- south of Broadhoof Outpost in the Ohn'ahran Plains (2025)
- near Camp Nowhere in the Azure Span (2026)
Tips from the comments: carry no expedition shovel, so that Disturbed Dirt does not put the same marker on the minimap; a WeakAura colours the kinds of container apart.
The wiki says looting a pack takes Renown 2 (quest Lost Expedition Scouts), Warcraft Mounts that packs need no renown; Renown 25 covers it either way. One 2023 comment, voted down, claims the mount from Disturbed Dirt; no source lists that.
A flying mount; the item binds when picked up (Wowhead tooltip). The linked guide is for the renown, not for finding packs, and gives this mount one line. No step-by-step guide to the mount itself was found (wow.gg has one for the Azure Skitterfly, none for this).
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
