How to get it

Reward of the achievement Closing Time, which is ten others. Seven come from Time Rifts, the hourly event at the Tyrhold Reservoir in Thaldraszus: Verified Rifter, Chronograde Connoisseur, Just Following Chronological Orders, Minute Menagerie, Collapsed Reality, Lock and Load and To All The Squirrels I've BEEN Before. The Future We Make comes from the Storm's Fury event in the Primalist Future, and the last two are the two halves of the dungeon Dawn of the Infinite, Galakrond's Fall and Murozond's Rise. Progress counts for the whole account.

Before you go

  • Minute Menagerie: the seven Time Rift pets, 2,750 Paracausal Flakes each from the rift vendors, 19,250 in all (Gill'dan, N'Ruby, Jeepers, Killbot 9000, Briarhorn Hatchling, Doomrubble, Obsidian Warwhelp). A rift pays 1-2 flakes an enemy, 30 a task, 150 for the boss and up to 140 in its three boxes; the weekly quest When Time Needs Mending adds 1,000. A pet can also drop from the boss of its own timeline, which saves its price · about 11 h over 7 days
  • Within those rifts: Just Following Chronological Orders (100 of Soridormi's tasks, up to about eight a rift), and Verified Rifter and Chronograde Connoisseur (the Fractured Causality at the end defeated in each of the seven timelines: Azmerloth, Azmourne, Azq'roth, A.Z.E.R.O.T.H., Ulderoth, Azewrath and the Warlands). A rift offers one of two timelines, shown on the map beforehand, and only a player who has hit the boss gets the credit
  • Also within those rifts, when the right timeline comes up: Lock and Load in a Warlands rift (pick up and fire all six weapons that fall where enemies die: Thunderbolt, Railgun and Crankshot from Alliance soldiers, Bomb Lobber, Shrapnel Spreader and Flamethrower from Horde brutes; click the weapon's buff off to be able to take the next), and To All The Squirrels I've BEEN Before in an Ulderoth rift (touch Ulderoth Mutagen Orbs during the task phase until one gives Fluffier Fur, then go back to Soridormi and let her pet you)
  • Collapsed Reality: the Temporal Essence bar of one rift, which everyone present fills together by doing Soridormi's tasks and killing enemies in the ten minutes before the portal opens, has to reach 7,500 so that the Box of Collapsed Reality is handed out. It takes several players at once: those who arranged it in 2025 and 2026 speak of five to ten · about 0.5 h
  • The Future We Make: all three bosses of the Storm's Fury event defeated, Glakis, Nimbulatus and Seismodor. The event is in the Primalist Future, reached through the Temporal Conflux in the south-east of Thaldraszus (59.8, 82.3), comes round every five hours, and ends with one of the three, picked at random. Seismodor only counts if he is left alive long enough to split into Seis and Modor · about 1.5 h over 2 days
  • Dawn of the Infinite: Galakrond's Fall (defeat Iridikron) and Murozond's Rise (defeat Chrono-Lord Deios). The two Heroic wings from the Dungeon Finder count, as does the whole dungeon on Mythic; its entrance is at the Temporal Conflux (61.3, 84.7) · about 1.5 h

In all: about 14.5 h of play, spread over 7 days, starting from nothing.

Getting there

Soridormi, Tyrhold Reservoir (Time Rifts start here on the hour)
Thaldraszus · 51.1, 57.1
/way Thaldraszus 51.1 57.1
From Stormwind (Alliance) about 1.2 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Valdrakken*
  2. Fly the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 1.2 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Orgrimmar to Valdrakken*
  2. Fly the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

Collapsed Reality is what makes this uncertain. Every source agrees the bar is shared and that few players now run Time Rifts:

  • comments from 2024 on call it nearly impossible without arranging company
  • a 2026 comment on Closing Time itself says "Some of these achievements are straight up impossible these days"
  • two players report reaching 7,500 and getting no box and no achievement (2025, 2026)

Others got it by joining a Time Rift raid in the group finder (2024) or through the communities and the Discord named in the comments (2025-26). The 5 players given here are the lowest number any commenter gave, an opinion and not a tested minimum. The sources also disagree on the bar: Wowhead's 2023 Time Rifts guide hands the box out at 3,000 Temporal Essence, the achievement says 7,500.

The rest is time. Flakes are the long part: 19,250 for the seven pets unless some drop (a 2023 commenter who ran over 100 rifts had nearly everything from bosses and boxes and bought nothing); the 400 a rift is arithmetic on the guide's amounts and depends on how many tasks get done. Flakes also come from the dailies at Eon's Fringe and from Dawn of the Infinite. The pets are battle pets; whether ones caged by other collectors count is not established, and that is not the route taken here.

The three timeline-bound parts wait on the rotation. Wowhead's guide gives the order Azmourne, Azewrath, Azq'roth, Warlands, A.Z.E.R.O.T.H., Azmerloth, Ulderoth; the wiki says there is no way to make sure which comes and that the game only narrows it to two. A 2023 commenter had not seen one of them in over 20 rifts.

The rift boss now dies within moments, so it has to be hit at once for the credit (comments of 2025 to 2026; one advises an instant taunt).

Storm's Fury: the wiki has it running two hours in every five, Wowhead's guide four hours in five; the wiki's 2023 notes say its portals close faster the more players are near. The Primalist Future is first reached in the Thaldraszus quest To the Future! (wiki).

The place given is Soridormi, where seven of the ten parts are done; the time on the spot is one rift. Closing Time was added in patch 10.2.6 (March 2024) and is itself one part of Across the Isles and so of A World Awoken; Wowhead shows it as attained by 30% of profiles.

Confidence in this entry: low. Looked up in 2026.
