How to get it

Looted from the Seething Cache at the northern shrine of the Zaqali Caldera in Zaralek Cavern; the mount is always in it. The cache only shows itself to a character carrying three stacks of Insidious Insight, one for each Seething Orb clicked. The orbs are small glowing spheres that turn up at about fifteen spots around the caldera. Orbs and cache are shared by everyone in the same copy of the zone: when someone loots the cache it vanishes, every stack in that copy is wiped and the orbs stay away for hours.

Time there about 15 min a visit

Guide True Endgame: Seething Slug

Before you go

  • Three Seething Orbs clicked while a set is up, without logging out or disconnecting in between. One circuit of the spots takes about ten minutes; a visit made while the cache is on its cooldown finds nothing, so several visits may be needed · about 2 h

In all: about 2 h of play, starting from nothing.

Getting there

Seething Cache, Zaqali Caldera (after three Seething Orbs around the caldera)
Zaralek Cavern · 32.3, 39.4
/way Zaralek Cavern 32.3 39.4
From Stormwind (Alliance) about 3.2 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Valdrakken*
  2. Enter Zaralek Cavern through the tunnels
  3. Fly the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 3.2 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Orgrimmar to Valdrakken*
  2. Enter Zaralek Cavern through the tunnels
  3. Fly the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

Guaranteed by True Endgame's guide (2024) and by every Wowhead comment; the wiki only says it "drops from" the cache, and no loot count is known (it comes from an object, whose page was not read).

Orb spots, from Wowhead comments and True Endgame (which agree):

  • 25.2, 44.8
  • 26.7, 47.0
  • 27.7, 49.0
  • 27.9, 51.0
  • 28.8, 55.3
  • 29.2, 42.5
  • 30.0, 48.0
  • 30.2, 40.0
  • 31.2, 52.0
  • 32.7, 52.2
  • 34.4, 45.7
  • 35.6, 48.8
  • 35.8, 41.4
  • 36.2, 44.0
  • 37.6, 46.7
  • 35.5, 41.0 behind a tower (added by a 2025 comment)

The cache is at 32.33, 39.35 and looks like a larger orb; at three stacks the game says "You hear a dark hiss from the northern shrine...". A character that already has the mount cannot see the orbs.

How the orbs come back is only known from players: comments of 2025 and 2026 tie it to the zone emote "Something whispers to you from the magma", the second seeing it two hours after a fresh copy of the zone started; one of 2024 holds that once orbs are up they keep respawning until someone takes the cache.

The stacks are lost on logging out or disconnecting; True Endgame says also on leaving the cavern and after an hour, while a 2025 comment kept them through a trip to Valdrakken to switch War Mode and saw no timer. War Mode on and off are separate copies, each with its own orbs.

Skyriding in the caldera draws the stacking Dragonslayer's Sight that knocks the rider off; steady flight does not (comments since patch 10.2).

Wowhead has no walkthrough; its Patch 10.1 Mount Guide (updated 2023) only lists the source. The treasure counts for the zone's treasure achievement (a 2023 comment).

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
