How to get it

Combine 20 Charred Elemental Remains. They drop from the Flame lieutenant that ends each Waking Dream, the Dreamsurge event that starts on the hour and the half-hour in whichever of the four original Dragon Isles zones holds the Dreamsurge that week.

Time there about 10 min a visit

Guide wow.gg: Renewed Magmammoth

Before you go

  • 20 Charred Elemental Remains: about 10 Waking Dreams at 1-3 remains a lieutenant, one event every 30 minutes; the remains bind to the character that loots them · about 5 h

In all: about 5 h of play, starting from nothing.

Getting there

Waking Dream portal, Wild Preserve (the Dreamsurge zone changes weekly; this is the Waking Shores spot)
The Waking Shores · 41, 77
/way The Waking Shores 41 77
From Stormwind (Alliance) about 1.7 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Valdrakken*
  2. Fly the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 1.7 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Orgrimmar to Valdrakken*
  2. Fly the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

The week's zone carries a teal Dreamsurge icon on the Dragon Isles map. The large portal's other spots, from the wiki:

  • Ohn'ahran Plains 24, 61 (Lilac Ramble)
  • The Azure Span 33, 39
  • Thaldraszus 61, 26

Smaller unmarked Waking Dream portals in the same zone end in an Ashbound Captain that also drops remains. The time on the spot is one Waking Dream (an estimate); the hours in the list are mostly waiting between events.

No first-hand 2026 report of the drops was found. The wiki files Dreamsurges under ongoing events, and a 2026 forum post has the event showing for a character once it reached level 80, so a lower-level character may not see it.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
