Reward of the quest The Way to an Otto's Heart, the end of a secret that is mostly fishing. Get the Aquatic Shades toy from The Great Swog's best bag, which costs one Gold Coin of the Isles. Wearing the shades, stand on the dance floor of the Bubble Bath, the underwater bar off the north-west coast of The Waking Shores, for five minutes; you wake in the Hissing Grotto above it beside an Empty Fish Barrel. Fill the barrel in three steps, using it after each: 100 Frigid Floe Fish from the sea at Iskaara, 25 Calamitous Carp from the lava at the Obsidian Citadel, then Kingfin, the Wise Whiskerfish, from the water by Algeth'ar Academy. Set the Overflowing Fish Barrel down where the empty one stood: Otto swims up and gives the quest, which is handed straight back to him.

- One Gold Coin of the Isles: fished up very rarely as it is, or traded up at The Great Swog (cave in the south-east of the Ohn'ahran Plains, 82.3, 73.2) from 5 Silver Coins of the Isles, each of them 15 Copper Coins, 75 copper in all. The coins come from fishing anywhere on the Dragon Isles (pools and ice holes do better), from the Lunkers of the tuskarr fishing holes, and from Sir Pinchalot on the Forbidden Reach, who is called to an Empty Crab Trap with an Elusive Croaking Crab, itself a fishing catch · about 6 h
- The Immaculate Sac of Swog Treasures, bought from The Great Swog for the gold coin, and the Aquatic Shades out of it · about 0.25 h
- The Empty Fish Barrel: with the shades on, step onto the nine-tile dance floor beside the bar and stay until Dance, Dance 'Til You're Dead runs out after five minutes, then pick the barrel up in the Hissing Grotto · about 0.25 h
- The three catches, in this order, each only biting while the right barrel is in the bags: 100 Frigid Floe Fish off Iskaara in The Azure Span (13.7, 48.5), 25 Calamitous Carp from the lava by the Obsidian Citadel in The Waking Shores (27.9, 53.5; lava fishing from the tuskarr is not needed), and Kingfin, the Wise Whiskerfish, from the dock by Algeth'ar Academy in Thaldraszus (55.9, 44.6). They bind when caught, so the character fishes them itself · about 2.5 h

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
The journal gives only the quest (72738). Otto has to be clicked at once: left alone he vanishes after a while and the three catches must be fished again (a 2022 Wowhead comment, the second best rated). The barrel survives logging out (a 2024 comment).
In August 2024 several players set the full barrel down and nothing came; Blizzard answered with a support article (000329288, not read). Comments of 2026 are from players who got the mount, the last calling it buggy and "finding the right spot to return the barrel" the hard part. A 2023 reply advises walking down the ramp to the water and back up if the barrel cannot be used.
Commenters say the fish bite better, or only, with the shades on, and the buff runs out, so they are put on again; one counted 77 of 100 fish with them against 23 without. No fishing skill is asked anywhere; perception gear is said to help with the two rare fish.
On the coins: Wowhead's 2022 post calls Lunker groups by far the fastest way and recommends the Iskaaran Harpoon for them (Renown 7 with the Iskaara Tuskarr and 25 Dragon Isles Fishing); a 2024 comment found Lunkers and tackleboxes not worth it and names Sir Pinchalot and fishing the pools.
Sir Pinchalot's crab traps on the Forbidden Reach (a 2023 comment; wow.gg has the same three):

He comes back every 5 to 10 minutes; by one comment whoever calls him gets at least a copper coin, by another two calls in twelve gave none. The commenters who used him bought their crabs on the auction house; that is not counted here. Because of that crab, and because the coins are luck either way, the six hours are loose.
Coordinates differ a little between sources: the Swog's cave 82.3, 73.2 (wiki) or 81.9, 72.1 (Wowhead); the barrel 20.3 or 20.4, 39.7.
wow.gg has a guide too (updated 2026, 3 to 6 hours from nothing), but it calls the items and the vendor by names no other source uses and is not linked. The mount walks and swims; summoned while the shades are on, Otto wears a pair as well (2026 comments say only then).
