How to get it

A dracthyr racial mount. Treysh, the quartermaster in Morqut Village on the Forbidden Reach, sells it for 80 gold to dracthyr, and to any other character that is Exalted with the Obsidian Warders (Alliance) or the Dark Talons (Horde). Dracthyr can also buy it from Tethalash at Weyrnrest in Valdrakken (25.5, 33.6).

Guide wow.gg: Swift Armored Vorquin

Before you go

  • A dracthyr character, or Exalted with the Obsidian Warders (Alliance) or the Dark Talons (Horde) on another race: the daily quests of Treysh and the other quartermasters in Morqut Village, the envoy's extra daily there, the Forbidden Reach's other quests, rares and treasures · about 15 h over 3 weeks
  • The Forbidden Reach opened at level 70: Hidden Legacies, which starts by itself on arriving in Valdrakken and is handed in to Kurazidaia at the Seat of the Aspects (61.0, 26.1), then Return to the Reach and the quests after it (a later character can skip them at Kurazidaia) · about 0.75 h
  • 80 gold

In all: about 15.8 h of play, spread over 3 weeks, 80 gold, starting from nothing.

Getting there

Treysh, Morqut Village
The Forbidden Reach · 35.5, 59.4
/way The Forbidden Reach 35.5 59.4
From Stormwind (Alliance) about 2.8 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Valdrakken*
  2. Fly the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 2.8 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Orgrimmar to Valdrakken*
  2. Fly the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

The journal gives neither the race nor the reputation. The wiki's pages for the mount and for Treysh (edited 2025) both say a non-dracthyr has to be Exalted with the Obsidian Warders (Alliance) or the Dark Talons (Horde), and wow.gg agrees. The wiki's page for Tethalash (edited 2026) lists the mount at 80 gold and says "Only dracthyr can purchase items from him in Valdrakken", which wow.gg does not contradict (it lists him simply as a second vendor). So the place given is Treysh in Morqut Village; a dracthyr is better served in Valdrakken. Mounts are learned for the whole account, so on an account with any dracthyr the reputation is not needed at all.

The time to Exalted on another race is the weak figure: wow.gg's amounts work out at roughly 1,500 reputation a day (450 x 2.5 + 350), which would make about two weeks if the usual 21,000 from Neutral to Exalted applies; neither that total nor the daily count is confirmed anywhere else. Taking the skip at Kurazidaia forfeits the introduction's 1,050 Dark Talons or Obsidian Warders reputation (wiki).

wow.gg says the Reach is reached by the portal in Valdrakken or by a starter quest it calls "To the Forbidden Reach"; the wiki has the patch 10.0.7 chain begin with Hidden Legacies (quest 74381, level 70, pushed to the player on entering Valdrakken). Whether Treysh sells before that chain is done is not established.

The wiki lists two Treysh NPCs, 198429 and 200559. The open-world one in Morqut Village is 200559 (Wowhead's tooltip, 2026: Quartermaster, level 70-90, at 35.4-35.6, 59.4); the other belongs to the dracthyr starting version of the zone (Old Weyrn Grounds). Tethalash's recorded points on Wowhead are 25.4-25.6, 33.4-33.8; wow.gg rounds to 26, 34.

Added in patch 10.0.2, Treysh added to Morqut Village in 10.0.7 (wiki); wow.gg says other races could buy from 10.0.7. The item is unique, binds when picked up and asks for level 10 (wiki).

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
