How to get it

Reward of the achievement Wake Me Up: eight achievements of the Dragonscale Expedition and the Waking Shores. Four of them hang on the climbing and cataloging world quests, which change twice a week and set the pace; two of the eight Waking Shores treasures need maps the expedition only gives out at Renown 21.

Guides Wowhead: A World Awoken Dragonflight Meta-Achievement Guide · True Endgame: Bestowed Ohuna Spotter

Before you go

  • Renown 21 with the Dragonscale Expedition: Renown 6 opens the climbing world quests and the Expedition Supply Kit (quest A Climber's Calling), Renown 8 the cataloging world quests (A Cataloger's Paradise), Renown 21 the quest Rumors of the Jeweled Whelplings and the gem cluster maps · about 17 h over 12 days
  • Well Supplied: every talent of the Expedition Supply Kit, about 9,000-9,500 Dragon Isles Supplies in all (Cartographer's Flag 100, Lucky Rock 2,000, Auto-Grappler 2,000 and Timeless Grip Chalk 3,000 among them); some talents ask for the climbing or the cataloging tutorial quests first · about 5 h
  • Lead Climber and How Did These Get Here?: 10 climbing world quests, and the Lost Supplies bag found on 10 different ones of the 11 that count (one bag a quest, each counted once; it takes the talent Jeb's Monocle to see them, and the Zaralek Cavern climbs do not count). A couple of climbing quests are up at a time and the world quests change twice a week · about 3 h over 4 weeks
  • A Legendary Album and Great Shots Galore!: photograph seven legendary characters, each on one particular cataloging world quest (two rides in the Waking Shores, two in the Ohn'ahran Plains, one in the Azure Span, two in Thaldraszus) and only once the talent Lucky Rock is bought; a ride does not always bring its character. And 100 great shots, over any cataloging quests · about 4 h over 3 weeks
  • Dragonscale Expedition: The Highest Peaks: plant a flag on 10 of the 22 marked peaks of the Dragon Isles (takes the talent Cartographer's Flag; each flag is worth 250 reputation) · about 1 h
  • Adventurer of The Waking Shores: 10 of the 32 rares and encounters of the zone · about 2 h
  • Treasures of The Waking Shores: all eight. The Golden Dragon Goblet needs the Archeologist Artifact Notes sold by Cataloger Jakes, the Bubble Drifter the map A Guide to Rare Fish, by a Wowhead comment a chance find in the expedition's packs, dirt piles and chests, and the Ruby and Onyx Gem Clusters their maps, which come from the expedition at Renown 21 (the Onyx one from Boss Magor's quest Rumors of the Jeweled Whelplings) · about 2 h

In all: about 34 h of play, spread over 4 weeks, starting from nothing.

Getting there

Pathfinder Jeb and the Expedition Supply Kit, Dragonscale Basecamp (hub: the work is spread over the Dragon Isles)
The Waking Shores · 47.3, 83.4
/way The Waking Shores 47.3 83.4
From Stormwind (Alliance) about 1.5 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Valdrakken*
  2. Fly the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 1.5 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Orgrimmar to Valdrakken*
  2. Fly the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

A long project, not a trip: the mount is granted when the eighth achievement completes, and nothing has to be collected anywhere. All eight have been account-wide since patch 11.0 (wiki), and Wowhead's guide says Wake Me Up has account-wide progress. The days of the requirements overlap; True Endgame's two weeks is the least it can take, and a character that still has to reach Renown 21 should count on about a month.

The seven characters, by Wowhead's guide:

  • Abu'gar: Cataloging the Waking Shores, by the Life Vault Ruins
  • Chen Stormstout: the same quest, east of the Obsidian Bulwark
  • Chief Telemancer Oculeth: Azure Span, east of the Azure Archives
  • Elder Clearwater: Ohn'ahran Plains, Forkriver Crossing
  • Nat Pagle: central Ohn'ahran Plains
  • the Time-Warped Mysterious Fisher: Thaldraszus, south of Valdrakken
  • Wrathion: Thaldraszus, by Algeth'era

Wowhead's guide adds: inside a raid group a world quest does not complete, so a cataloging ride can be repeated for great shots and for a legendary character that failed to show; the Lost Supplies give credit once each and cannot be repeated that way.

The wiki says of the Onyx Gem Cluster that its map can be used with Renown 21 and Jewelcrafting 50; Wowhead's comments and True Endgame name only the renown, and a comment has the map bought again from the expedition for 3 Neltharite and 500 Dragon Isles Supplies. Whether a character without Jewelcrafting can use it is not established, nor how the Ruby Gem Cluster Map is handed out at Renown 21. The notes for the Azure Skitterfly say Dragonscale Expedition renown is warband-wide since patch 11.0; that is not confirmed again here.

Wowhead has no guide to this achievement alone; its guide to the meta-achievement A World Awoken has a section on Wake Me Up that goes through all eight parts. True Endgame's guide (2024) is written for the mount.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
