Temperamental Skyclaw

Handed over by Zon'Wogi, the stable master at Three-Falls Lookout in The Azure Span, in exchange for 20 Flash Frozen Meat, 20 Gnolan's House Special and 20 Tuskarr Jerky: three foods that drop from three gnoll tribes of the zone. Ask him about the saddled slyvern beside him, then present the dishes; nothing is fought.

Guides Wowhead: How to Obtain the Temperamental Skyclaw Secret Mount in Dragonflight · Method: Temperamental Skyclaw Mount Guide

• 20 Flash Frozen Meat: from the Snowhide gnolls of the camp in the frozen east of the zone (58.2, 43.4). It may only drop once a side quest line of the zone is done, most likely the camp's own, Riders in the Snow through True Survivors · about 1.5 h
• 20 Gnolan's House Special: from the Stormfang gnolls inside the big tree inn at Brackenhide Water Hole (23.1, 43.7); the gnolls of the camp around it do not drop it · about 0.75 h
• 20 Tuskarr Jerky: from the Darktooth gnolls of the camp north of the Azure Archives (34.4, 45.7); the stalkers there are stealthed and show when walked into · about 0.75 h

In all: about 3 h of play, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

The journal's "Vendor: Zon'Wogi" leaves out the price, which is the 60 foods. Zon'Wogi is at 19.05, 24.0, the stable master just below the flight point (Wowhead's replies, Method and the wiki); the top comment's waypoint of 19.8 is a slip. All 60 have to be in the bags before the option to present them shows (a 2022 comment). The foods are ordinary food items: using one eats it, as two commenters found out, so hand them to Zon'Wogi through his dialogue.

Time: all three have low drop rates; Wowhead's 2022 article says about 20 minutes a stack, comments say "a couple of hours" for the lot and one records a three-hour session, which is about what the needs add up to. No drop percentages are given: the foods' own Wowhead pages were not read. The three foods are not bound and are sold between players, which Wowhead, Method and most comments mention; the reins bind when picked up.

Not settled: a few players report that Zon'Wogi offered only his battle pet options and that no skyclaw stood beside him (2023 and 2025); nobody posted a cause, and it may be the same unknown quest unlock that Wowhead's article suspects for the Flash Frozen Meat. The article says the whole of Sojourner of Azure Span certainly unlocks it; the cautious course is completing the Snowhide Camp story, by the wiki:

• Riders in the Snow
• Field Medic 101
• The Extraction and Gnolls Must Die
• Snowball Effect
• Frostbite: Causes and Symptoms
• True Survivors

A reply notes that no renown is needed.

Where sources differ: the wiki puts all three foods at Brackenhide Water Hole, which fits only the House Special; Method and Wowhead's article call the Flash Frozen Meat camp Camp Nowhere and the jerky gnolls Darkhide, where the comments and the wiki's drop lists say Snowhide and Darktooth. Gnoll names by the wiki:

• Snowhide Brute, Shaman and Yeti Hunter
• Stormfang Grunt, Dustcaller, Hexspiter, Bonecaster and Shaman
• Darktooth Stalker, Battler, Skirmisher and Spirit-Caller

It is an ordinary flying mount, not a skyriding drake (comments of 2022; ordinary flying has worked on the Dragon Isles since patch 10.2). Wowhead's guide is a news post, not a guide page; Method's is of 2024.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
