Rare drop, as Fiery Warhorse's Reins, from Attumen the Huntsman in the Karazhan raid in Deadwind Pass. He is the first boss, in the Livery Stables just inside the front gate: his horse Midnight stands there, and attacking her brings him.
Chance 1.1% once a week, so about 91 tries on average — Wowhead: 3,820 reins in 346,946 recorded loots of Attumen the Huntsman (item page, read 2026-10-11). Its tooltip for the item gives no figure

Getting there
/way Deadwind Pass 46.6 74.1 - Fly there
- Take the zeppelin from Orgrimmar to Stranglethorn Vale*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
This is the old ten-player raid, not the Return to Karazhan dungeon, whose own Attumen drops a different mount and whose door is the tower's side entrance (46.4, 70.7). The raid has one difficulty (Wowhead's loot table knows only the ten-player mode) and a lockout of seven days (wiki).
About 91 weekly kills are expected at 1.1%. Commenters report it on the first kill, after 112 attempts (2026), and after 85 even during the boosted event of July 2025. During the Collector's Bounty event of July 2025 a commenter put the chance at about 6.1% (1.1% and a 5% bonus); that was an event, not the standing rate.
The fight (wiki): Midnight is attacked first, Attumen appears when she is at 95% health, and at 25% he mounts her. He is optional and comes before any other boss.
The entrance coordinates come from the game's instance-entrance table. A 2025 Wowhead commenter walks in through the gatehouse portcullis at 46.9, 74.8. Two others (2025, 2026) mention a portal in the Chamber of the Guardian under the Broken Isles' Dalaran that lands in front of the entrance, for characters that unlocked it in Legion.
The wiki's page for the raid still lists The Master's Key as its key; the recent comments mention none, and whether anything is asked at the gate was not established.
The wiki also has the reins turning up on the Black Market for bids from 20,000 gold, which is not a route counted here. The time on site is an estimate. The item asks for level 17 and Apprentice Riding since patch 9.0.1 (wiki).
Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
