Look it up on WowheadHow to get it
A dracthyr racial mount. Treysh, the quartermaster in Morqut Village on the Forbidden Reach, sells it for 40 gold to dracthyr, and to any other character that is Exalted with the Obsidian Warders (Alliance) or the Dark Talons (Horde). Dracthyr can also buy it from Tethalash behind the Obsidian Enclave in Valdrakken (25.5, 33.5), and a new dracthyr may pick it as the reward of the quest Cavalry Has Its Place in the starting zone.

Notes and sources
The journal gives neither the race nor the reputation. The item's tooltip on Wowhead reads: must be dracthyr, exalted with the Obsidian Warders (Alliance), or exalted with the Dark Talons (Horde). The wiki says Tethalash in Valdrakken sells to dracthyr only, so the place given is Treysh in Morqut Village, where the wiki has other races buying at Exalted; a dracthyr is better served in Valdrakken.
Wowhead's sold-by list (2026) has three sellers at 40 gold:
- Tethalash in Valdrakken (NPC 196637)
- Treysh, the Quartermaster of the Forbidden Reach (NPC 200559, level 70-90)
- a second Treysh, the Cavalry Master (NPC 198429, level 12-60), who belongs to the dracthyr starting version of the zone that other characters cannot reach
Mounts are learned for the whole account, so on an account with any dracthyr the reputation is not needed at all: the mount is also one of the rewards to choose from in the starting quest Cavalry Has Its Place (Wowhead's reward-from list, quest 72263), and wow.gg (updated 2026) reckons about an hour to make a dracthyr and finish the starting zone.
The time to Exalted on another race is the weak figure: it rests on a handful of Wowhead comments, as given for the Bronze Vorquin, where the reputation is also noted as per character, not shared across the Warband (a 2024 comment).
Coordinates: Wowhead's tooltip for the Morqut Village Treysh, 35.4 to 35.6, 59.4; wow.gg puts Treysh at 45.2, 61.2, which does not fit and is not followed. Tethalash's spot is from a 2022 Wowhead comment (25.54, 33.52, behind the Obsidian Enclave); wow.gg has 25.5, 33.5.
The item's page has only two comments, both from 2022, so nothing was found there on what has changed since. wow.gg calls the starting quest by another name in one place and spells the vendor Tethelash; it does not say how the reputation is earned. The item binds when picked up and asks for Apprentice Riding.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
