How to get it

Reward of the quest Snailed It, which Briggul, the snail trainer at the Glimmerogg racetrack in Zaralek Cavern, offers at Professional, the top rank with the Glimmerogg Racer. The rank is 2,800 reputation: Briggul has one training quest a day worth 100, and showing him a level 25 snail battle pet from outside the cavern is worth 100 once for each of fifteen kinds.

Time there about 10 min a visit

Guides Method: Big Slick in the City Mount Guide · Wowhead: Big Slick in the City, item page (the top comment lists the ranks, the unlock quests and the fifteen snails)

Before you go

  • Renown 7 with the Loamm Niffen, which opens Briggul's first quest, Off to the Track: 2,500 reputation a level, from the cavern's world quests, public events, rares, the weekly Researchers Under Fire event and sniffenseeking · about 4 h over 5 days
  • The unlock quests at Glimmerogg: Pay to Play and Favor on the Side from Brogg the Beast (43.8, 83.0), then Come Snail Away and A Race to the Finish with Briggul, which introduce Big Slick and open the daily training · about 0.5 h
  • Professional with the Glimmerogg Racer: 2,800 reputation over four ranks of 700 (Aspirational, Amateur, Competent, Skilled, then Professional). One training quest a day from Briggul, drawn from seven, gives 100, so 28 days on the dailies alone; a missed day costs nothing but the day. Each of fifteen snail battle pets at level 25, summoned beside Briggul, opens a one-time Snailspiration quest for 100 more, 1,500 in all, which leaves 13 days · about 5 h over 4 weeks

In all: about 9.5 h of play, spread over 4 weeks, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

The journal's "Quest: Snailed It" leaves out the month of dailies behind it. Until the rank is reached Briggul lends a Conch Whistle that calls Big Slick as a temporary mount, slow at the first rank and faster with each one (wiki, comments). Briggul's place: 44.3, 79.9 by the wiki, 44.2, 80.0 by Method.

The fifteen snails that count (Wowhead's top comment and Method agree):

  • Amethyst Softshell
  • Archetype of Vigilance
  • Blackchasm Crawler
  • Microlicid
  • Mudshell Conch
  • Predatory Helicid
  • Prismatic Softshell
  • Rapana Whelk
  • Rusty Snail
  • Scooter the Snail
  • Shelly
  • Shimmershell Snail
  • Silkbead Snail
  • Spireshell Snail
  • Zoom

They have to be level 25 and from outside Zaralek Cavern: a Cobbleshell caught in the cavern is refused (a 2023 comment), and so is the snail from Elianna in the Emerald Dream (2024). All fifteen can be shown in one sitting, one after another (2023). Six of them are pets that can change hands (Amethyst Softshell, Archetype of Vigilance, Microlicid, Prismatic Softshell, Scooter the Snail, Shelly; a 2023 comment); the rest are caught in the wild or, for Zoom, come from an achievement. That is a mention only.

Reputation buffs count: the Darkmoon Faire's WHEE! and the human racial (top comment, Method). The Glimmerogg Racer is a friendship-style faction (id 2568) with its own rank names, so the reputation is given as "Professional" rather than a usual standing. The Loamm Niffen have been a Warband reputation since patch 11.0.0 (wiki, as noted for the Calescent Shalewing).

Wowhead has no guide of its own for this mount (the item's page links only its Loamm Niffen renown guide, its Zaralek Cavern guide and its patch 10.1 mount guide), so Method's is first and the item page's comments second. The wiki dates Snailed It to patch 10.1.5 and the mount to 10.1.0. The item binds when picked up.

Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
