Nothing to unlock first: go there and it is yours.
Getting there
/way Boralus 69.6 13 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Boralus*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
Added in patch 10.1.5 (July 2023) together with free riding skill. The Horde's Time to Fly ends with Beast Handler Kalatak in Dazar'alor and gives the Scarlet Pterrordax instead.
The wiki: the quest (75877) is 'received the first time an Alliance character visits Boralus at the required level' and is listed for levels 30-90, so it scales to the present cap; Wowhead's tooltip for it reads only 'Find Leila Stafford.' The most-voted Wowhead comment (2023, +68) says the same of level 30 and the visit. Two players tell how it reached them: one took the wrong boat in Stormwind and had the quest on arrival (2023), one took the portal to Boralus (2023).
No report of trouble on the Alliance side was found among the item's nine comments, the newest of 2024; on the Horde side two players of 2023 had problems (see the Scarlet Pterrordax).
Coordinates: Wowhead's tooltip for Leila Stafford has 69.4-69.6, 13.0 and one point at 70.4, 11.6; the wiki gives 69.6, 13.1 and places her 'on the west side of the entrance to the square just west of the ethereal shop'. The reward is the item Harbor Gryphon, which binds when picked up; Wowhead marks it Alliance-side.
Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
